Great setting however my Medium/Rare steak was so Well done it was dry. Not what you expect when you spend $38 on an Angus Porterhouse.

I was only there for a pub feed, and it was excellent. Service was absolutely fantastic. Portion size is large. Beautiful water views. Can only recommend. Only order the double Brisket Burger if you are really hungry!!!

Nice venue and beautiful location, but, wow...

The food at dinner was TERRIBLE. I come from a country town so my expectations aren't high, but this place blew me away. I got a barramundi coconut curry - to be fair, the fish was cooked nicely, just bland, but it came without the coriander, and the curry tasted like they just dumped a whole can of coconut cream onto the plate. Had rice too. They should replace menu description with "thick white tasteless goop." (it even says "new favourite" on the menu. Of who? Beryl the No-Tooth Bore?) $37 for that treat.

But wait there's more! That dish had nothing on my husband's T_bone steak. Both of us have never come across such a dry steak in our lives - and we both grew up with parents who murdered steaks into chewy overcooked bits of rubber. And THIS STEAK WAS WORSE. I didn't believe it til I tried it, but wow. Came with two gravy pots and now I know why. Could barely cut it with a steak knife, no joke. I think they put it into the dehydrator instead of onto the grill. $35 on the Chef's Specials board. That chef was special alright. Honestly I almost recommend it. You won't believe it til you try it.

Went to get a specials $10 cocktail too, but they said they couldn't make it because the cocktail girl had to go help in the kitchen. Mmm. I'm connecting the dots.

Hopefully it was just a bad day. The kids ate nachos and they were nice enough, so... Get the nachos.

We chose a riverfront room. It was literally on the riverfront. Fabulous views! The section we stayed in is old and our room small however everything functioned perfectly. The hotel is the start of the main street. No noise issues though. We will definitely stay again.

We stayed at motel. the room was terrible. old fashioned, knocked about, look liked it was built 100 years ago and not changed from then. we left after 1 night and are requesting refund. the pub was good and food good but the rooms look nothing like in their advertising. bathroom too pokey to have a shower so we slept in our clothes and left early in morning. This motel should be pulled down. $150 a night was a joke. should be about $50 if that. don't stay there !!! .

Where do I start, well the establishment was getting ready to close for the evening, the staff were more than happy to stay open for us to have a beverage. The establishment always have a professional approach.
I must also add that their Bistro has wonderful lunchtime meals, but if it's Dinner your after , you will find it hard to decide as their Menu's are superb,. Well Done Crown Hotel

Stopped in here for late afternoon drinks. I enjoyed 2 lychee margaritas, they were delicious. A wonderful find for a local pub that does tasty cocktails. Service friendly. We sat out in the beer garden undercover area which was great.

Reasonably priced.
Clean n nice rooms.
right across River. Good location. Has small garden n play areas for kids.
Has good restaurants in hotel. quiet n nice place.
Staff wasn't much friendly at reception but they aren't rude either. The guy at reception was helpful but seems like he doesn't like to communicate more than 3 sentences. which was OK.
Nice riverside place n clean rooms so I surely recommend this.

We had lunch at the hotel that was very tasty and better than average serving sizes - Thai beef salad, corn and bean guacamole bowl, steak sandwich and cheeseburger were all great. It wasn't the quickest service but being a public holiday and very busy that wasn't unexpected. We were happy to sit and have a few drinks and admire the view from the balcony looking over the river. Would be a great spot on a summer evening too.

The food is classic Australian pub food, with burgers and a pamma ( of course) and well worth going back for.
The front bar dates back to the 1800's and if the walls could talk they would tell many tales!

Great customer service - they found my lost jacket and kept it until I returned a week later! Many thx to the friendly Staff!

We sat outside as the weather was so nice. Noticed the Puppy Parkings. Nice touch. Food was good. Place has a good atmosphere. Will go there again.

Family luch only, so can't comment on the rooms. But great view right on the river. Staff were great and food was on point. Typical pub grub and some more fancy offerings too.

Just on price alone charging $130 for a single bed that worth $70, that's just disgusting and robbery
Property is on the river but Zero view, oh wait it's the carport!
It's not even busy to even offer an upgrade (which we would have paid if we new the room I booked online was what my husband was getting on the road) the staff didn't even know the daily special right at open time for dinner even though it's on a bright board right behind them
Would not recommend this place as my husband woke around 3am and just left couldn't stand it

Great establishment overlooking Clarence River and Bridge to Bridge boats in situ. Balcony area a must to sit and have a fabulous meal from the kitchen. Prompt efficient service from all staff... bar service and food service. Definitely worth revisiting again. Understand the business has changed hands now with new owners. Basically everything else is still the same as before.

Visited the Crown for a relaxing lunch & there is a new menu for patrons to enjoy... big meals & yummy. If your a pizza lover, a superb variety of choices for you to choose from. ??'?????

Had a nice meal with my friends at the crown for her 18th. Beautiful view over looking the river. the menu doesn't have a lot of options with some meals only being able to be bought at lunch time etc. The meals are definitely worth there price though, Nachos and all other meals are absolutely loaded with food. Had to take some doggy bags home with us. The staff are also really friendly and polite. Had an overall pleasant experience.

A lovely place by the beautiful Clarence River for a drink, but we stopped eating at the Crown years ago as the food was not to our taste. Heard it had new owners, so decided to try a meal.
It was so good we came back a few days later, and it was just as delicious second time around.
The new menu caters to a large range of tastes, which can be a trap, but our meals were excellent. My husband swears the beef burger is one of the best he's had on the north coast - we do travel a bit.
Meanwhile I prefer vegetarian meals, which generally is a problem in Grafton hotels. But someone at the Crown knows what she/he is doing. A Poke Bowl! And it is fantastic! Best quality fresh produce, blanched to perfection, dressed in a totally yummy sesame dressing. Ordered it twice and it was perfect both times. Oh, and the chips are amazing too. Will try the seafood next visit.
Totally recommend the Crown for a drink and a meal - had a lovely Penfolds Shiraz, sold by the glass - and the veranda has been rearranged and is a much more relaxing setting.

I always stay here when in Grafton. If I stay in a pub room, they let me park my motorcycle in the locked up are near the beer garden. Nice food, decent old pub rooms and the motel rooms are ok. Parking the bike outside the motel rooms is nice and secure as well. Service is always good and friendly. Nice area out on the deck for a few quiet drinks after a big ride.

When ever we visit Grafton we always seem to end up here for a feed. Enjoyed the barbeque ribs last night, which were awesome. Superbly cooked, very tender. Served with chips and salad. Tip arrive during happy hour and get an extra large glass of good red for only $5. Great value. Very friendly staff. Will be back.

Was directed to go to the crown hotel by two people. Amazing wonderful original pub.
Old style charm through out amenities clean rooms simple but nice.
Food great. Staff fantastic will go above and beyond to help you.

Great location. Friendly service. The chef couldnt tell us where the frozen fish was from however. Loads of potential.

Our small school celebrated our end of year get together here. Great service, great food with little wait. Great views of the Clarence River from the outside verandah.

Large classic Aussie pub in perfect quiet location on the huge stunning Clarence River opposite a memorial park. Great place for sunsets over the river.We had a delicious Angus steak on the bone - perfect for medium & was tender.Staff are friendly.

Food is over priced. The meal I had is only cooked as medium and you can't ask for the beef to be cooked longer. I could only eat half. Location is good and had a good time with friends.

We called there for lunch definitely would recommend the bistro menu with a good selection
