I've been coming here for over a year to place my weekly Keno bet, I usually spend $50 - $100 each time. But today I decided to get a drink as well and the old lady at the bar was just flat out rude.

First I had to wait for her to finish her casual conversation with another customer, fair enough. But when she finally did decide to serve me, in mid service, she stops and decides to stop and give priority service to another local that had just approached the bar. I walked out at that point, and I wont be coming back.

Awful service.

Update: To respond to the owner below, this occurred on the 8th of February at exactly 4:35pm. I know this because I still have the receipt for the $70 Keno ticket I purchased. Either way, I won't be returning so I don't really care if you investigate. But I will suggest speaking to your staff about getting carried away with conversations with locals. It's off-putting for patrons and makes people feel unwelcome when they give locals priority service.

As for your comment, I would have apologised and already addressed this with your staff instead of acting like you cant find any evidence, pretty poor response.

Dinner with family. Bistro was clean and well set out. Good choice of meals. For starters we had onion rings and bacon and cheese garlic bread (to die for). For mains we had steak, salmon, schnitzel, chicken burger and beef burger. All were large and delicious. The staff were friendly and the price less than I expected.
If in Cooma and you want a great meal for a good price I promise you won't be disappointed.

One of the male staff snatched our bottles of the table twenty minutes before closing. He was aggressive and rude. Could have told us it was last call instead of trying to intimidate customers and glare at them from behind the bar. Absolute joke. Go elsewhere if you want to be treated like a human being.
Edited in response to the owner. I was not holding a drink from another pub. Two of my group had empty bottles on the table from The Alpine. Rather than leaving them outside on the street, we carried them inside. Would you have preferred we leave them outside your premises and litter? I was at the bar ready to order another round of drinks for my group when I saw your behaviour and both myself, and your other bar staff stood mouth wide open at your outburst. No one told you they didn't care about your liquor licence. You didn't even give us a chance to respond before you stormed over and threw your weight around.

Never have I ever been met with such a rude manager. I was taken aback by his aggressive behavior. He was deliberately attempting to be intimidating, but instead showed his lack of basic human decency.
Edited in response to the owners comment. My group did in fact walk into the pub with almost empty beer bottles, barely a dribble inside. We had no sooner picked where we would sit when we were approached with such aggressive behavior. We had walked over from the Alpine with the last of our drinks. Not wanting to leave discarded glass bottles outside the door we bought them inside, there is no crime in that and it certainly didn't breach any alcohol license violations. Empty bottles with barely a dribble are better collected by staff off the table and recycled than discarded elsewhere on the tables outside before entering which I would have considered rude. We weren't even given the time to order a drink before the owner jumped up and down in rage, embarrassing us and himself in the process.

The staff were friendly. The food arrived quickly and tasted great.

Good feed, fast service, friendly staff and nicely renovated hotel. I recommend this place.

A large group during busy Easter weekend. So perhaps it was understandable that food took a long time to arrive and in dribs and drabs. I had the chicken schnitzel. Underwhelming in terms of taste and size.
I found the RSL Ex-Services Club offers much better service, value and quality.

Quick service, friendly staff, clean amenities, easy parking and lovely old building. Great stop for lunch when travelling through town with trailer.

Amazing grass fed steaks, don't be intimidated by the price, worth every dam last dollar! Plenty of bevos off tap to choose from too... good on ya creedence!

Highly recommended! Service was great, warm and professional. Our meals were delicious, high quality and cooked as ordered.
While the prices of the meals are similar to most pubs/bistros, the quality of the food is on another level. The side dishes on their own would have satisfied.
The chef was also kind enough to come out and ask how our meal was, much appreciated. Mandatory stop on our next visit to Cooma!

Good selection of beers on tap, food is quite palatable and nice decor.
There's also a well priced bottle shop adjoining, with a reasonable selection of drinks.

Great staff and very good to customers. Always a good time. Decent pub food and drinks are reasonably priced

This dish, which originated in middle Ages, is ideal for consuming in the cooler months of the year. I just kept seeing myself eating this delicious dessert whilst curled up under a blanket by the fire slowly turning diabetic.

Amazing amazing food, the Cobb loaf and Goulash ??'? great atmosphere, nice staff and reasonable prices. If you're driving past, definitely recommend stopping in for lunch and dinner ??'? definitely keep the menu and the comfort food ?

Visited here on work trip with my partner from Sydney a few months ago and we still think about the food to this day.
We came back both nights of our stay in Cooma and everything was fantastic. Service, food, atmosphere and staff were 100%. Could not fault.
Very happy with everything and hope to visit again soon.

GUINNESS ON TAP! A grand place with welcoming staff, excellent service, and a good selection of food and drinks on the menu. The Scotch Fillet was superb! This is the place to go in Cooma!

I was promised a 350g steak, medium rare. What I got was cold, 200g and well done. No salt. When I asked for salt our table was given 3 tiny packets. When I asked for more I was questioned as to why I needed more. Never again.

Stopped in for lunch on the way home from the mountains and WHAT A GEM! Every meal was amazing, right down to the perfect chips! And the best part was the super friendly staff, made us feel very welcome. Thanks team!!

Will absolutely be stopping in every time we come through Cooma in future!!

on my way to Mount Kosciuszko, I stopped there for lunch. Ordered steak, and it was good. What I liked more was the nice and friendly staff.. very friendly and I enjoyed my time there

Popped in at the recommendation of the Shell servo lady. Unbelievable surf and turf with prime rib steak. Great rack of ribs. All generous servings, perfectly cooked, and served with a smile. Couldn't have walked away fatter or happier :)
