Workers are nice. I just went there for a drink after shopping. I put a couple of dollars in my tab account.the young lady that served me was pleasant. I moved down the bar and young man served me straight away. I bought a coke.it had lots of ice in it.i sat at a table over looking the kitchen .all the kitchen workers looked so busy. I must mention the cleanliness. Any where I went in the commercial hotel in swanhill was spotless.well done to those involved. My observations of the kitchen was so intoxicating I decided to stay for lunch.i looked at the specials board and decided on the soup with two slices of garlic bread.only $15..the coke was $4.50.so only $19.50.wow.cheaper than the fast food outlets. I recommend this place to all ages.older people, travellers are all welcome there's parking front and back. Have a loverly day.

This pub is nicely renovated and comfortable inside, the fire was welcome on a cold winter day.
Friendly helpful staff were a bonus.
But the food really lets the Commercial down. Given the very limited choice of gluten free options, don't bother going if you have Coeliac disease.
My wife's chicken (one of the very few gluten free options) was dry and tough and virtually inedible. And two thirds of the plate was salad, making the serving very small.
I had the "pie of the day" which was not a pie, but simply a bowl of stew served with two triangles of tough pastry sitting on top.

This is a recently renovated ated hotel. The range of on tap drinks is good. The place is comfortable, inside and out.
The dining room at diner time is packed. The food is wholesome and tasty. We e joyed several hours of talking, drinking and eating

I made a booking there for 19 adults 5 kids and needed 2 high chairs but the only time we could get was 7.30pm, the parents decided it was too late so changed the booking to 13 and then two more people wanted to come so changed the booking to 15. We get there and even though my name was on the paper on the table with 15 guest written on it the table was set for 13, I went to speak to someone and they made us squish the tables together so that the extra people could sit where the tables met instead of adding an extra table with two chairs. So incompetent, the good was mediocre to say the least, steak was tough, the squid was cold. So not be going there again.

Gets quite busy so best to get your food order in so not waiting too long.

My wife and I only recently moved to southern regional NSW and have a day outing every Friday to explore different towns in the area which includes a lunch. We'd never been to Swan Hill before let alone the Commercial Hotel. Googles 4+ star rating attracted us here for lunch and we weren't disappointed. The calamari as recommended by chef Anthony, and the Chicken Campognola were absolutely fantastic, as was the service and ambiance. The meals being delivered to our table in a timely manner by our server Amity. Well done to all staff, thank you and we will be back.

A bit underwhelming

Weekend away with my wife we decided to go in Swan Hill. Perfect weather 21 on Saturday and 22 Sunday. We want to try the commercial Hotel for a nice Pub meal considering we are country town. Food come out to quickly ( arancini) and cold. Barramundi was good and the steak not was hot at all considering I ordered butter garlic and don't even melt it. Service was ok, nice atmosphere very busy that leave little mistake in cooking progress.

Looking for a late Brekky passing through town and decided to have lunch instead. There were 4 of us and we were a bit early for lunch service but they cooked it anyway. My chicken burger was to die for. The steaks were perfect as well. As others have said the chips were amazing. We all cleaned our plates. Well worth the quick stop. Friendly service. It's a big tick from us

Relaxed & modern interior style. The scotch fillet steak was amazing, nicely chargrilled & was definitely rare-medium cooked as I'd ordered. The chips & veggies were delish- I would definitely come back for this $39 steak- it was money well spent.??'?🏼??'?🏼

Very unsatisfied with the service, I ordered my meal and the chicken was over cooked and very chewy, I let the staff know and they re-made me a new plate, then to receive this plastic in my meal which I nearly swallowed.. I have been coming here for a while and it seems like the standards are lower and service is just going down hill.

On both occasions that I've attended for a drink, my service has been fair. Staff are fastidious within their work and ensure that I'm provided with what I've requested. The facility is also appealing with the recent upgrades and renovations, moreover allowing an easily navigated and quick entry for customers. I recommend going here, be it for a feed, a drink, or to socialize with colleagues and family.

Enough said.
I believe, they need better security, being a country boarder town pub.
The staff who I worked with there were all very nice to me, and seem to all get along with each other.

Brilliant steak with a mushroom sauce to die for. Comfortable hearty yet modern atmosphere with very friendly staff. Just look at how perfectly my steak is cooked. I'll be back.

The best pub meal ever!! Love the food so much. Everyone is so friendly and they have great customer service!

This was the WORST EXPERIENCE we've ever had at this pub! Hence why I am giving zero to one star for it. Once we ordered half the table received their order rather quickly & promptly - however the other half including myself had to wait 40-45mins for our food to arrive. The first half were already finished before we had even received our food, even other tables with the same food as us received it quicker than our table!! The staff couldn't care less, it felt as we tried to get staffs attention to ask where our food was most of them saw us looking at them & looked the other way or just completely ignored us. By the time the food did come out after a waitress came & told us only 10 minutes more (which it wasn't ) we had lost our appetite & would rather spend our money elsewhere & where we felt like valued customers.

Had dinner here and loved it. Had 2 pizzas and a bowl of chips. Would recommend it to anyone else who comes.

After its brand new renovations and new staff, the meal and quality have suffered. Fluffy brioche, rocket and tons of chips make a very average meal. The now open kitchen also billows smoke into the dining experience.. It's a country town pub, stick to value and quantity would be my suggestion. It took over 30 min to get a lunch special Beef Burger to me.

Lovely meals at lunchtime. Reasonably priced and efficient service. Looked very well attended by locals and visitors alike. A bit plain from the street, it didn't look like it was "open" but pleased it was.

This hotel had the best screen ever for watching the footy. We loved it. Also the staff were magnificent and the meals were yummy and prompt. Best ever away from home.
