Currently under renovations. The noise level was absolutely disgusting. No one in our group could hear each other speak. The management seemed less than interested when feedback given.
Suggest you avoid until the renos are completed unless you want to go deaf.

Good place to unwind after work. Great place to hang out with friends and drink (happy hour) The ambiance is good. There is also a band last Friday (when I went there). just hard to find parking in the area. Steak is ok..

Ordering can be done online which is convenient, and the food is good. Prices are a little steep though, wish they had more low cholesterol options.

It's such an underrated place with good drinks and bar food including pizzas . I went there for a team drinks and absolutely loved it. It's right next to the station entrance which is an added bonus

Dropped in yesterday for a beer at around lunch time. Bistro seemed popular however not packed in Sports Bar. Food menu looked good as was the selection of beers. Will be re-visiting.

Great place, cold beers, aesthetically pleasing with all the plants and very warm in winter with heaters going. Food is great value and very big portions. Will be back for sure.

Good place to chill with friends and have a drink however last night I witnessed some disgusting behaviour by a group of islanders who were doing too much. Poor security guard was getting abused. That group was drunk, rude, disrespectful and very inconsiderate. I commend that security guard in getting them out the way he did because it could have ended badly the way those guys were threatening him. I couldn't believe what I was hearing but once he got them out I got to enjoy the rest of my night safely. Good work!

A few work colleagues headed to the Commercial Hotel to try out their lunch specials. 3 x lunch special chicken schnitties were ordered ($18ea). 1 minute after the last person ordered, their buzzer goes off. How could the food be ready in 60 seconds was it a rejected order sent back to the kitchen? Maybe! because the gravy was cold.

It took another 10 minutes for the other 2 schnittys to arrive. The schnitz itself was a strange shape and crumbed in radioactive orange crumbs. Were these cornflakes?? It resembled a giant chicken nugget or even a Japanese beef/potato croquette. It was to our surprise, real chicken breast, not pressed chicken.

Diane sauce was nice. Creamy Garlic sauce was a watery mess. Average portion size. Small side salad with very acidic dressing. Not many pub options down this end of Parramatta though. Interested if cheeseburger comes with chips as it doesnt state it.

Good food, atmosphere. I go here weekly. Something's they miss your order but go up to ask them they normally will make it straight away ?

The table-scan ordering is a great idea but you have to go downstairs to collect your own meal when it's ready and you can't order soft drinks (the menu item is there but it's inactive when you click on it) so you end up having to line up to get a drink. Kind of defeats the point of table-based ordering guys!!

Really has gone through a major renovations. Definately not the same place I watched the Porkers at! But it has cold beer and good food so what else do you want!!

I like the commercial. Food is quite good abd reasonably priced. Large eating areas with upstairs area makes it a good place to hang out after work. We use it a lot for work drinks and special team lunches

Incredibly poor experience at this hotel. We had reserved a table for a group of friends to watch the Australian/Tunisian Football World Cup match on Saturday night, all of who bought food and drinks for a few hours prior to the game kicking off at 9pm.

We had asked bar staff to turn the sound on for the big screen which was showing the game, well in advance of kick off, and we kept getting fobbed off, as they were "too busy" doing other things. All staff were extremely rude, very dismissive and totally uninterested in trying to help with a simple request to have sound on the big screen for the match, that everyone in the bar was there to watch.

When booking a table, days in advance, there was no mention that there are issues with the sound on the TV, or that it wouldn't be on, and they even advertised on their website that there is "No better place to catch all the action!" Couldn't be further from the truth!!!

Utterly disappointing experience caused by uninterested, unprofessional bar staff and a poor venue who refused to deliver on what they advertise.

Would recommend no one to go here for a live sports event, as you will leave early, and very disappointed!

Poor customer service for groups.

I wanted to book a group of workmates to gather for drinks mid afternoon on a Wednesday - hardly a busy time. Everyone was to pay for their own drinks. At first they were happy to take our booking but then insisted that I book a function area and commit to a minimum spend. I advised I could not make such commitment as this was not a function.

I was told to submit a web enquiry which I could not do because I was driving at the time.

I get that pubs want a commitment to hold space when it is a busy time. I worked in hospitality and sold functions but their attitude of not serving customers through their channel of choice and putting up hurdles when the place is empty made no sense.

We went to RUSE bar nearby which was nicer, cheaper and better customer service. No issues with booking a couple of tables mid afternoon on a Wednesday.

Not bad at all. Food was quite good and ambience and service was up to scratch. Opinion but the pricing and surcharge were over the top. I contextualise my observation against puns in the area and against pubs in the Inner West. 13.80 for a pint of an average beer compared to 11.50 in Stanmore males no sense.

Have visited a number of times but recent visit was absolutely atrocious. The female bistro staff are extremely rude along with the male staff member behind the bistro bar. Bar member overcharged me for the order and bistro staff couldn't care whether it was right or wrong. I asked for cutlery and was told that it's the end of our shift (@ 2.10pm) on a Tuesday!!
Will never waste my time visiting this establishment ever again

Happened to witness Abusive behaviour shown by so called manager with no apparent reason than total racial discrimination. He ended up being totally arrogant and bully. Did management hire him during "Happy hours" ? No wonder why this place is becoming empty and loosing its charm day by day. Hoping management to look in to this matter to address the issue and take appropriate action. Seek professional help in hiring individuals who can contribute to grow your business than the ones who take you down to where they belong.

The pub was mostly empty. My father and I sat at a table away from the wind at 2pm which has a sign saying that the table was reserved from 5pm. We wouldn't be staying that long. My dad brought our empty glasses back to the bar..and asked the bartender with red dyed hair how her day was....and was told not to talk as she was pouring a drink.and empties go over here..ok so no polite conversation.and you can pick up the glasses yourself..
...when I went to get a another round the same bartender told me we would have to move...I asked why... there's a booking at 5pm...it was 3.30pm and no mess on the table...I said we'd be gone after these drinks... Then she subtly stalked us waiting for us to leave which we gladly did at 4pm...I'm not sure what her problem is or was with us...but it left us feeling we should never have come. Which we won't ever do again unless friendlier staff are hired.

Normally we have had great experiences here. Maybe it was just the night we were there but was freezing cold, raining, there was no heat and they wouldn't close the doors to the beer garden, so only place we could sit was freezing.
Unfortunately the service at the beer garden bar was below par. However the lady working the front bar was great and went out of her way to try and resolve our issues.

For someone who doesn't frequent pubs, I was quietly impressed.
Great music, lots of screens to watch sport. The meal was good and hearty and drinks were served quickly, albeit with some confusion. Great vibe and if I lived in Parramatta I'd be there weekly.

We had a birthday party in Function Room last weekend. Awesome spacious room, enough seating and tables + balcony. Great staff, helpful, location was perfect, across the road from train station.

Would highly recommend them ??

Food wise, my $23 rump steak was overcooked for a medium rare order. It was also a bit smaller than the advertised weight. The mash and salad was standard. Was not dissatisfied by the service. Average overall.

Nice area closer to station and smoking area with sports in tv.very nice atmosphere with lots of option for beverage selection,however staff (including manager specifically Ash)had very poor costumer skills and poor conflict management skills.Staffs have attitude and ignorance issue (especially female bar staff working on 12.11.21 pm shift at sports bar).

Management seriously need to look into their staffing attitude issue or else they will loose a lot of costumer .

Great bistro area. Good selection of beers and spirits. Nice seating area, was not too busy when I visited on a Friday for lunch. Good selection of food as well. Ordered rump steak, it was bit too dry for my taste!!

The only star I gave is for the options of drinks this place has to offer. If i were to look at the staffs, manager and security guard at Sports bar, I would rate this place a minus. The customer service was really bad. Bar staff has no idea what a customer service is. The security guard with a ponytail is really rude and aggressive. Manager Ash, I wonder how did he even got that post. Manager Ash was racist and he has no quality of a manager. Really disappointed with the place. The staffs, guards and even Manager needs a good training about a good customer service.

Very well managed. Checking all who entered. Clean and tidy, with plenty if room to sit and chat. Good selection of beers.

Decent pub. Decent menu. Prices are fair. Outdoor' balcony area has heat lamps in winter. Large dining area ceiling is rolled back on sunny weather days. Aircon in the main dining area. Has Pool tables.

A surprising gem of a place, for lunch or dinner. The food arrived lightning quick, was tasty and of great value. I will definitely be back for a drink after work to soak in the atmosphere.

Huge place with several bars. Quite empty when I was there. Convenient location right next to the station. Only post mix mixers, so choose another location or a different drink if you care about the flavour of your spirits

Food and drinks are great, and the beer garden is fantastic. Really good lunch and dinner options and great pricing.

The staff from my experience were quite rude when I first arrived, and the remaining staff were very hit or miss in terms of service and attitude. Easy to ignore once you have a few drinks though.

Lovely bar with many different areas to suit everyone, lounge, bar, gaming area, smoking area. Staff are really friendly and helpful and they have happy hour most nights. All kinds of sports played all day long and the food is amazing. Well worth a visit. Not many bars like this in the surrounding area so it's a hidden gem.

Overall OK place. Big , spacious , drinks are a little expensive. They have removed the pool table so I want to remove 1 star . But will leave it there for now as I have a good time on each visit. Being right behind the station you don't have to worry abt drink and drive.. take the train

I work in Parramatta and head to the commercial regulary for lunch. The Mon to Thurs lunch special is good. I go the $14.50 rump and it is nice size and cooked the way you like it. I keep going back, so that says something.

Liked the place and it's ambience. Had a lot of tank and enjoyed their chicken wings. The only downside is the very limited list of munchies.A good place to hangout with friends and for a quick gatherings.

Nice venue, very surprising for a pub. The interior was all clean and the drinks were pretty good. Will have to go back to try the food next

Much improved, I think the bistro must be under new management. Everyone's (9 of us) lunch was great. I'll be back.

Very good atmosphere, friendly staff and great value meals. The steak I had was so tender it literally melted in my mouth.I highly recommend this pub.

This hotel was clean and well presented and the staff politely encouraged the patrons to follow current social distancing measures. This made for a relaxed atmosphere and allowed us to have a fun and carefree experience. The snacks and drinks they supplied were complimentary while in the gaming room and were delicious as well as generously portioned.

This pub has a great atmosphere. It's fun and casual. The bistro is great. The cheap Tuesday deal is really good value. They have rump/ schnitzel with salad and chips for $12. The steak is excellent quality and schnitzel is perfectly crumbed, light and crisp on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. Definitely the best schnitzel I have had in recent memory. Beers are pretty standard. No craft beers or anything fancy, but it's a good solid local venue that caters for the "after work" market. They have a little beer garden with a huge screen for watching sports and what not. Good for big matches. The poker machine area can get very smoked up at times, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. That's the only downside to this place.
