Had a meal today at lunchtime with family ..of the 6 of us at our table 1 received his meal (he had ordered last) of the remaining 5 ,2 received their burgers after an hour 15 min wait.that left 3 of us waiting including a child waiting on a small bowl of chips, The table was visited by a staff member asking what we had ordered. No communication as too when the last 3 meals would be served, by the time the 2 hour wait occured and I was going to demand a refund. The chips arrived followed by a ceaser salad and grilled chicken breast and limp salad served on a plate that had been heated , as I am a celiac ( unable to process gluten ) I now have severe tummy pain, can only presume that my meal that on ordering was deemed gluten free had been contaminated during preparation.
Ohhhh we did get a sorry for the delay on delivery of the last meal and a small pizza that appeared freshly made .
Table 2 of our party were not as patient as us and 2 patrons demanded as refund.

Such a shame it's a lovely venue with a great playground for kids and clean amenities, but our family will not be back.
We appreciated the gesture with the pizza but had to wonder who ordered it and left before it was served.

From the time we paid to receiving our meals, we waited 1 hour and 25 minutes. When we finally got our meals, the dinner was dried out, as in you could hardly cut, chicken. And a plate of, mostly, frozen beans. And there was no pride, at all, in the plating of the meal. The steak was not as badly cooked. But mostly frozen beans as well.

Absolutely loved the vibe of the pub, both inside with the leather couches as well as the rustic barn outdoor area.

The kids are also well looked-after with a massive play area at the back and a fair few options on the menu.

Unfortunately, though, I find that vegetarians are often forgotten at country pubs with only 2 basic mains (veggie burger and pizza) available with the addition of some sides if need be.

The chips were nicely seasoned and crispy though ?

We stopped in to the bistro for dinner while travelling. Little bit of a wait for food but it was worth it - the parmigiana was fantastic. We also had a bottle of wine as they had a great list that was very reasonably priced. We would definitely visit again and recommend to eat here if in Yass.

Location is good, close to the restaurants and shops.
Room is simple but tidy. We overlooked it has shared bathroom, the female shower area has no lock, anyone can wander in from public hallway, which is always open to downstairs public area, it felt unsafe!
Worst thing was live music plays from sat night till 3am sunday, the floor was shaking, like speakers under the bed. Reception didn't mention about that when we checked in.

Great pub, trailer parking out the back, great outdoor seating area and big playground for the kids. Main bar had heaps of options on tap, door was beautiful and great service.

Went to Merino bistro for dinner. Good pub food, large portions, excellent service and very fast. Would go again when in Yass

Went in for dinner and some beers with friends.
Had the 300g black angus scotch fillet steak with chips, salad, gravy $42. Worth it! Steak was beautiful, nicely seasoned, chips were crispy, salad nice vinaigrette dressing, gravy was good. Beers were nice and cold. Worth a visit. Would recommend!

Great pub food for a family gathering. Get in early and out early with kids. Service great, easy to book, very kid friendly menu.

If you are tired of fast food on highway and are after a bit of a longer stop then 10 minutes Yass and the Club House Hotel is the place to stop for lunch. Where in 2023 can you get a steak or a Baramundi Filet for 18 dollars and it is not only good but great? Well. Here you can!

Never enough staff on. Waited 1 hour for our meal and it never showed up. All other guests at our table got their food and finished. When we asked where our meals were there was no apology just excuses about computer glitch.
Not the first time it has happened. Staff don't even know how to refund money back onto your card. Had to give back cash.
And to top it off the bar lady decided it was appropriate to kiss the boyfriend (who worked in the kitchen) behind the bar. (Not the first time that has happened either)

Absolutely horrendous service. The two girls behind the bar were incredibly rude to everyone. They were cold and callous. The food and the pub is lovely but never felt so unwelcome in a pub.

Bar staff service terrible, unnecessarily rude & abrupt. In particular 1 girl with brown hair, glasses & boots, who is definitely not good for business.
Food was quite good however will spend my money elsewhere next time.

Great relaxed atmosphere, not crowded and cozy, bistro indoors with street views and outdoor space out the back area, excellent food and drinks at a very reasonable price, chicken parmigiana and chips , battered fish and chips, crumbed steak and chips, and a few other choices all for $14.00 lunch special. Will definitely eat there again soon.

Great steak! and the price only being $38 was amazing, couldn't quite give a 5 star as my partners salad had no dressing and my mash seemed to be the powdered stuff that you add water to.

The bar staff were rude, the atmosphere was unwelcoming, and the food was just average. The air conditioning was not working and it was quite hot inside. While the server who brought our food was friendly, the overall experience was negative. Would not return in the future.

Good old pub with good pub food. Staff are super friendly and helpful.
The food sizes are very ample and the taste is very enjoyable with the ingredients looking fresh and full of taste. In particular the chicken ceaser salad is one of the better ceasers we have ordered in particular for a pub.
The only negative was the kids adventure playground that was being either renovated or installed and had building materials around the tables. We went there with kids who could not understand why they could not get on the slides and platforms.
There appears to be a lot of renovation going on for this old brick pub. And that is great.
I will be back when next in the area?

Great pub and lunch was perfect as usual. Mum had steak sandwich. Was spot on and I had the rump steak and it was perfectly cooked to my liking. Have always had a great meal at a good price. Keep up the good work

Driving from Melbourne to Brisbane, we decided to stop for lunch and gas up in Yass. My parents had the friend fish platter and my brother and I had the vegitarian burgers. The service was lovely and everyone was friendly. There was even an older gentleman who held the door for my mother. Should I find myself on this drive again, I will certainly pop in for a pint.

My favourite pub food in Yass. I've eaten here several times when staying in Yass, twice in May, and now twice in October. The servings are always generous, cooked well, served quickly, always piping hot, and ingredients fresh. I have now had the barramundi and salmon, mash and veg, or chips and veg. Simple food done well, and I wish other pubs around the country would take note of how it's done. Staff have always been super friendly and efficient! Thank you.

The floor is revolting, and the tables are all, without exception - falling apart. The chairs aren't in much better condition. The smell of the main dining area was less than welcoming. The toilets were filthy, and the service was apathetic at best.
After the table nearly collapsed under the server bringing food, I asked for paper towel to clean the half a pint of beer that was now across the table. When no paper towel could be mustered, the server sprayed and wiped the table down with a wet cloth, leaving the table just as wet as it was previously.

Recent refurb with modern industrial decor. Great location for travelling to and from Melbourne with family. Super comfy beds and clean rooms and facilities. Very affordable. Good pub food and friendly staff.

Great pub... Nice areas to sit and have a beer or good pub food. Service is friendly and quick. Lots of good options on the menu for both food and beer and wine. If you're passing through give it try, or if you are in the area, stop by!

Manager needs an understanding of the use of QR code for dependents. Had a friend whose phone wouldn't work but manager advised the law states I couldn't sign them in as he was over 18. Learn the rules. Stop being so combative. Try welcoming people.

Stopped by for dinner. Bistro area and most of the club seems recently refurbished and quite modern with a country feel.

Bistro area was nice and quiet and even had a fireplace although I believe it was gas. Food was excellent, pricing on par for a country pub.

My only complaint would be if they could put a sign on the bar in the Bistro to order food at the main bar. I sat there for 15 mins waiting to see if someone would open this bar at 530pm to take orders before asking a staff member who told me to order at the main bar.

But overall great food and quick service, will definitely return.

Good food, good serving size. Nice family pub. Probably the most reliable quality in Yass in terms of food.

Very busy due to Easter and School Holidays, food was fine, however we wanted to order hamburgers but they had run out. Seats in and around the main bar are uncomfortable and rickety. The staff were friendly, helpful and happy.

On a hot near 40 degrees day and u visit a pub u want to be cool.. no not at this pub... doors opened and hotter inside than out . I feel for the bar staff as its not them.. not enough staff on to cover both the bar and bistro orders at the bar at lunch time.. sometimes the wait for a drink or to order a meal takes forever. Maybe put some more staff on to accommodate

We went for a quick lunch to the Meriona Bistro (The Clubhouse Hotel).
The ambience is nice, both inside and outside.
The staff was friendly and they really have a great selection of beer on tap.

I was positively surprised to find Thai style salad items on the menu!
The family ordered Beef Burgers and Thai Beef Salad.

The burgers came with generous thick patties and I believe they might have been home made,
however they were a bit dominated by thyme and onions flavours and overall quite dry.
The chips were great!

The Thai Beef Salad was generously sized. The beef strips seemed to have been
grilled and had a nice charred taste. The also generously applied marinade was
sticky and very sweet. There was only a hint of spiciness and I completely missed
any lime flavours that are (in my opinion) a must in a Thai Beef Salad.

Perhaps, my expectations were too high, after all this is a Pub and not a Thai restaurant.
Would go back there, but would probably choose something of the grill.
Overall it was an okay experience.

The biggest pub in Yass. Got a gaming room and a very nice outdoor area. Friendly staff and fair prices.

Great country pub, with good food and menu options, nice social atmosphere and friendly staff. Good range of beers on tap and plenty of seating options inside and out. My new 'go to' / local in Yass!

fantastic atmosphere, excellent service and most of all, delicious country food. we had a nights stop over at Yass and decided to stop at the clubhouse bistro for a family dinner. Everything from the nachos with the special mince sauce, chargrilled scotch fillet and the classic chicken parmi all went down a treat.

If you are new to the place and don't know the order of how things are run, you could be waiting for a long time before you realise you have to order at the main bar. After that you will need to wait a bit more for the food to arrive. I had the spicy prawn pasta and it was just that. Make sure you get some bread item to soak up the sauce. It was nice and spicy and delicious.
