It's a Great pub in the city, the sound and ambient are awesome for dance til late.

Tap beer cold and very refreshing, as for food only had spicy buffalo wings and spicy they were, great and lively atmosphere...good city pub

Great little pub. Warm and welcoming and even smells nice! An excellent range of beers on tap.

Ordered a grilled chicken burger not the spicy chicken burger as per the photo attached. it came out as a spicy grilled chicken. immediately took it back and was told all their chicken burgers are spicy which is not what is stated in the menu. I told them I just wanted a plain grilled chicken burger. then they replaced it with a crispy chicken burger even though I went to great lengths to explain I just wanted a plain grilled piece of chicken. They didn't do that, despite the menu. Had to get a refund, didn't eat.

Was having a good time in the underground level at about 2am after peak hour, when I was arbitrarily kicked out by the security guard for standing up straight and having a regular conversation with my brother on the dance floor. I don't believe I even had a drink in my hand. Security was clearly bored at this hour and felt like targeting somebody for no reason, clearly need something better to do.

Great atmosphere, great pub classic meals, especially the daily specials. Every night of the week is a special main under $20. Had the Wednesday Schnitzel, Can't go wrong and friendly staff.

I have never met a more aggressive security in my life. My female friend showed 6 forms of ID but they still were not letting her. He got so aggressive with her and when we tried to calm the situation other security was being aggressive to the rest of us. It was the one with the ponytail and beard. I feel sorry for his future wife. I hope she's ok. Shoutout to the manager for looking at the IDs once and said to the security "that is literally her let her in"

Loveliest Staff EVER... My workmates (20 People) & a further 30-35 people from another work sites of my company came here for after work drinks march 16.2023.
They were so fast serving all out people together and...nice chair & tables set up. HIGHLY RECOMMEND...Also...Awesome Caring Security

A good pub for a cold drink

Good pub vibes, music isn't too loud so it's a good spot to grab a drink and catch up with friends. Bartender was friendly and gave good recommendations for drinks. The pub entrance was a bit confusing but we got there eventually, the same entrance as Ni Hao Bar, which are located up the stairs.

Bustling pub in CBD. Went Tuesday night and it was very busy. Beer options was good, but food was ok.

Had lunch at 130pm Friday as its near to our hotel. The place was crowded and we waited abit for food. Food is good.

Quite a basic place, with no real style but that's what you need sometimes. Quite a few beers on offer, generally the usual favourites. Decent pub food menu. Screens for sports, pokies round the corner. Was quite busy at Friday lunchtime. Fast service.

Really good, awesome food. They had the origin on which was good. I recommend!

Civic Underground - attended a ticketed event billed as 10 PM to 4 AM. Security personnel decided the event was over at 2:40 and kicked everyone out, including the DJ. Indoor security in particular were rude about it. When asked for a reason, indoor and outdoor security simply said "the night is done" and "it's time to go home". Completely inappropriate for a paid, ticketed event which was in full swing. We were out in the freezing cold waiting for our next event at 4. Cheers Civic!
UPDATE - group operations manager confirmed it was Civic management who decided the event was over, in line with the venue's early closure policy. A place for promoters, DJs and patrons to avoid!

Unbelievable Sound Quality Experience

Go see the band's play during the week in UnderGround last night was amazing.

This is a really great place for after work drinks and Nibbles. We came in a small group today and had a good time sipping some of the tap beers and chips/wings.

Wow! THIS PLACE HAS IT ALL! The bistro is amazing, fresh delicious food served with a side of customer service that is evident! Attentive staff and Australia's largest international wines, beer, spirits to wash all that delicious food down!

You feel at home when you step into this venue with a history dating back to 1940. You can't but feel as if you've stepped into an amazing place with experience and vibe. A job well done!

Went upstairs to ni Hao bar. Was ok. Didn't stand out.

We had a great feed for dinner. We ordered 4 little share plates and all were fantastic. Barman was great. Made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed it so much, we're going back tonight.

I had a sirloin steak and a cream pasta.
It was so delicious:)

Roof top bar is awesome, Saturdays good crowd.

The food portions are huge and the quality is good. Make sure you're hungry if you go here!

Ni Hao bar is ecceltic with Asian Bruce Lee interiors. You can order their lobster dish (one day in advance), it's delicious!

There are so many places for steak in Sydney, thought I would try this one. Lovely open room, with two large TV's either side of the room. Ordered two steaks, chips and salad. The steaks were cooked to order, the salad dressing was actually quite good and the chips hot. The steak was bland and not really worth $25, when you compare it to nearby pubs. No one asks how your meal is, and it really sums this place as one visit location.

The Civic Hotel has that little bit of class, without the Price's! All entertainment provided here from tab, Keno, poker machine rooms separate from the main bar. A good set-up all round.

Really interesting outside space. Average selection of beer. Good location and aesthetically pleasing art deco bar.

Bar staff were great. Very attentive, friendly, accommodating. Unfortunately no drinks service in the pokie room though. All in all we enjoyed an afternoon at the civic. Great location too.

Went to see a friend play here, in the Underground. What a great venue - it's cozy but not too small, has it's own bar, booths, a dance floor and lots of mirror balls. Would be a really great place for a party when we can safely do that again. (Longing sigh!)
