My Mum had been there for lunch with friends previously and remarked that the food was great! So I took my daughter when she came to visit with her little family and it was disappointing, the food was burnt. 8 ball tables and company is good for the outgoing person

Whilst the service from the frontline staff was exceptional

we have to question managements decision to host two 18ths, a Hens, a 80th and a 16th on the same evening. All with group sizes of 30 plus. We ordered at 6:34 and received meal at 8:30.
Meal was reasonable - although my step father's vegetables appeared to have a noodle in them suggesting either the pot or strainer wasn't clean when straining the frozen veges .
My Step Father and I both had or gravy's brought out in boats but my mother had her gravy brought out was in what could only be described as a thimble
Clearly took on too much for one evening.
Management being money hungry once again

I came here for a steak and it came out cold and dry and horrible plus the service was bad. To there credit I got a $50 voucher to come back with!
I came back a few weeks later and this time got a chicken parmi. The service was even worse, no diet soft drink option except coke and my partner is diabetic and the parmi was very average but $28 absolute horrible price. Thought I'd give it a second chance but still no good. Don't think they'll ever get it right.

Great food at a reasonable price.

2 bedroom apartment that was large enough for my family of 5.
Nice clean room.
Large king size bed.
Great bathroom facilities, modern, great shower pressure.
Good kitchen facilities, to cook your own meals.
Only 10 mins to city centre.
Highly recommend

Absolutely amazing pub. Fantastic meals, jaz would have to be the best bar maid by far! Always brings a smile and a positive attitude. Makes you feel welcome and always enjoys a laugh. So if your just after a cold one or a nice hot meal come to the Carlyle hotel🤙

I recently hosted a dinner gathering at the Carlyle Hotel, and I have to admit that the food served was rather average. Despite the elegant setting and ambiance, the dishes didn't quite meet our expectations in terms of taste and presentation.

Great pub for a great meal. Had the most spectacular Cesear Salad, large and delicious. Senior deals also on the menu which makes for a great place for those watching the dollars in retirement.

I was disappointed in the service and the meals. First of all why bother having table numbers when the staff come out with meals yelling out who ordered the seafood basket.?? I was seated with one other person on a table for two. We both ordered at the same time. My order came out last. 35 minutes after the persons I was with. It was dry and un edible. I have never been there before and I can say with certainty I'll never go there again.

Very disappointed tonight with the service, Tuesday 12 September 6pm - 7pm. It was my son's 19th birthday, there were only 3 of us - me, partner and my son. I didn't think I had to book for a Tuesday so we just went and young girl gave us the worse table in the room, right next to the entrance door that was sliding open every 2 minutes with cold drafts coming in. I asked the young girl if she could move us to another table as is my son's birthday but she said no because they are full. She is a liar. There were other tables available the whole time we were there, unreserved! I used to love coming here and was always given a good table area to eat on but after tonight, you have lost a customer! I'm appalled with that girl's service knowing she could have easily given us another table available to enjoy my son's night.

Had dinner on a recent Saturday night. Absolutely packed, always a good sign. A good selection of meals on the menu, prices are reasonable. Food looked good and tasted great. A good night out.

We had a wonderful time here, we was served & seated by a lady called Amber. Making sure our children had everything they needed.

It's so nice to enjoy a beer at the Carlyle with the fantastic service from Jasmin. An absolute credit to you team.
Will definitely be coming back again

Worst pub meals we have had. And absolutely hands down worst customer service, from the waitresses, bar and keno staff I have had to deal with. A smile costs nothing guys !!

Went for lunch.
Service was very slow with meals coming out at different times.
Kids cheeseburger patties was like charcoal.
Chicken parmy was quite bad, how hard is it to make a decent chicken parmigiana! Seriously.
Salad was 90% lettuce with a couple of pieces of carrot and cucumber.
Tartare sauce and tomato sauce came in takeaway style squeeze sachets.
Chips were actually quite good. But that was it.

Was a very basic chain pub menu. First place I have found in Tas using the me&u system. They were super accommodating and the desert was lovely. Service was lovely.

Food overcooked, certainly gone downhill which is a shame . Staff reset tables without wiping over , staff were quite underwhelming, certainly no joy factor there. Maybe retrain or employ staff that actually care ......

This accommodation is upstairs at a pub with pokies bistro public bar etc.
No elevator.
Pretty bad view from the window, other guests walking on the roof.
Shower leaked.

Tonight we went to the bistro here to attend an 18th birthday party.The meals took along time to come out and when they did there were issues with them , took a stubby of beer when one of the patrons went to the toilet that was half full,when asked to supply plates with the birthday cake we were told to use serviettes, when asked for a spatula to assist with serving the cake we were told they didn't have one to which I replied what do you flip your eggs with.They came out with a large soup spoon . very pathetic service won't be going back.staff there were two young girls that obviously needed customer service training

Busy pub eatery . I have been numerous times. Not my ideal place or food..Plenty of nice pubs around.. Unfortunately I don't like this place..

We eat here on some times. Have always had great food . They have seniors meals every day both lunchtime and dinnertime. Highly recommend.

Working in Hobart for the week, comfy clean room, amazing caesar salad, will try a steak tonight. Everything you'd expect for an ALH GROUP venue.

Place was lovely... but had dramas with the food... went to the counter to order my meal... ordered salmon which had salad and chips as the choice I wanted but asked if I could have sweet potato chips instead of normal chips... she said she would check with the kitchen... she came back and told me they would not swap them over... I asked if they had a side of sweet potato chips and she said yes so I ordered it... I paid $30 for the fish and $10 for a huge bowl of sweet potato chips with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce... what is wrong with these kitchens... I thought they were their to supply customer service... its not as if they didn't have what I wanted... I have a condition that doesn't allow me to eat normal potatoes but they are just not interested... maybe the chef is the one from the Roaring Frill that refused me the same thing there. 5 star rating for everything else but Zero stars for the kitchen.

What can I say except just love love this place! Recently organised a dinner for a certain amount of people and, had unexpected guests show up! The staff were just champions and bought more chairs over for the additional people! Nothing was too much trouble and staff accommodated us very well! Even though they were extremely busy. Food was great but really the staff were the hero's. Keep up the great vibe and customer's will always return.

All but one member of staff were great the older guy in the main bar was rude didn't want to serve my friend and I told us if we wanted drinks to go next door and started serving others at the bar, when he did serve my friend he dropped her drink order to serve other guests thankfully another member of staff finished it and apologised to her. Zero customer service from the older guy.

Specifically booked a small dinner table near the playground window to keep an eye out for my daughter (who's quite slippery). Was greeted by Andrew who insisted there was nowhere available except the table furthest away from the requested area, "it's that or nothing" he said. As a result I almost lost my girl out the front door due to poor vision. There were 3 empty tables in the desired area the whole time. My daughter's safety is not worth one man's rude ego.
The wait staff were wonderful.

Friendly staff, cheap bar meals. Bit quiet since Covid but family-friendly bistro as a result good for group functions. Updated accommodation upstairs

My mum, daughter and I had the best experience. Stayed in the family room. Clean as a whistle, we was very thankful for that. Complimentary toiletries, milk, biscuits and general tea/coffee supplies were in an abundance. Meals downstairs and a BWS. We used both. Service was fantastic in all areas!
