This is supposed to be a 4.5 star hotel, our issues and questions were treated worse than a 2 star hotel!
We perform shows globally and stay at many hotels and motels whilst touring. Myself and two crew members stayed here whilst performing at a local venue, and am so disappointed in the hotel and staff!
I had a blocked sink when arrived, had to soak up the water after shaving, after washing my hands and after brushing my teeth with a towel!
So before I went to the venue to perform my show I asked if the receptionist could get somebody to unblock the sink, that was 7pm, I came back at 1 am after the show and it still hadn't been unblocked!
I also asked the receptionist why the room damage bond was more than the room rental itself, and when I would receive the $200 damage bond back into my account, the reply was 'up to 10 days!'.
When I asked for a manager 'Jay' to explain why it took so long to refund the damage bond back into my account, and that after staying in hundreds of different hotels globally and never paying $200 damage bond in any of them, his answer was "I've stayed in many hotels who charge that amount, let's save my time and yours and just leave it at that!"
I asked for a different manager to call me to discuss the issues, I then received a call from the area manager, he called three days later, and then said he'd sort out the damage bond immediately (5 days later it still hasn't been sorted), and also said that they would sort out a complimentary meal at their restaurant as a 'sorry for the inconvenience', of which, I'm still waiting for both!
Is it the meal or the damage bond... no, it's the principle, and the fact that a 4.5 star hotel has treated guests the way they have!
If you're going to run a 4.5 star hotel, treat your guests better and with more respect than you've done with us!
My crew and I will never stay at the Calamvale hotel and suites again, hopefully this will at least make your managers look at issues from hotel guests differently!
