My review has nothing to do with the golf course because it was lovely. After playing a round I stopped into the bar for my traditional post round beer. After sanitizing and signing in at the front desk I moved up to the bar while social distancing in the que. Mind you, I may have been the only one doing this. After ordering a beer and having it poured from the tap, the bartender in the orange safety vest asked for my ID. Confused, as I am 58, I handed it over to her. When she looked at it, she said that she would not be serving a Victorian a beer and told me to leave the club house. I mentioned to her that I have been away from Victoria for months and have all current documentation. She then said "Club policy, serve no Victorians" Good Bye. I've never been discriminated against before. Thank you Byron Bay Golf Club for sharing. Imagine if I was also a person of colour?
