Nice hotel with friendly service. The reviews in our group were mixed for food but I enjoyed my calamari. It has one of those MacDonald's playgrounds so good for the kids.

Called at 2.50pm today (saturday) asking if they are serving food. Got told by reservations on the phone that they don't stop serving food on weekends and we can just walk in. Arrived at 3.15pm and was very rudely told by the lady counting money at the till "no, we close at 3pm and open again at 5.30pm. You probably called the other pub." I know who I called and it wasn't the other pub. Get your call centre and pub staff on the same page. Very disappointing and extremely poor customer service from floor staff.

A great old pub with excellent service, great atmosphere and good food. Definitely worth a stop if you're passing through, or make it your destination and enjoy everything Berry has to offer. You could experience everything Berry has to offer in a day; totally worth exploring around.

We arrived for a quick meal at 5.15pm, finding all tables reserved. The reservation signs on the table said 'you can sit here until xx time (the time of the booking.) The room was empty so we asked staff if we could sit for a quick meal, and that we would be out well before the booking, they said yes. The table we sat at was reserved for 6.30pm. We were 3/4 through the meal when a staff member came over and told us we had to leave. It was 6.05pm. She said the booking had arrived. We calmly suggested they have a drink at the bar as we will be finished in about 10 minutes, max. She was very escalated and very, very rude. I explained the signs on the table said we could sit until the booking time and that we confirmed this with a staff member. She said 'we have to fix the signs', and threatened to throw us out! We argued for about 5 minutes, and I said we could have finished our meals in that time. She finally stomped off and we finished and left. We walked over to the people waiting who witnessed the whole thing. They were a bit shocked and said we didn't ask her to approach us and that they had been doing the same thing at another table! We all had a laugh, they were lovely people. Also, they don't offer any service, you get a buzzer, pick up the cutlery etc. Its all set up for the staff, not the customer.

This is a review on the food alone.
The chicken parmy was dreadful. Very cold in the middle. Definitely frozen and re heated.

Chips where good and so was the gravy. Decent consolation price I guess.

The old owners were so much better than The Feros Group. The steak is s**t - it's no longer tasty local beef but VAC PACKED rubbish that can't be served rare or even medium rare and tastes like the plastic it came from. The 'Pan Fried Huon Salmon' was also absolute rubbish - 2 tiny chat potatoes, 5 green beans, 5 cherry tomatoes with a SLIVER of OVER COOKED, WELL DONE, KILLED AGAIN vac packed salmon! I asked the girl when ordering 'don't overcook the salmon' and received fancy cat food - took the plate to the kitchen only to be told 'keep in mind for future reference we can only serve WELL DONE salmon but I can get you another one?' Salmon is NOT supposed to be cooked this way and IF this is the case, should be mentioned on the menu prior to ordering. The only thing worth going to this place for is the ribs and beer. With the beer, keep an eye out on your glass - I've had a few with dirty bits floating in the glass itself. We never had issues with this place until ownership changed, which is a big shame for the local pub.

If you're looking for a spot to enjoy a meal or drinks with friends and family on the South Coast of New South Wales, the Berry Hotel is definitely worth checking out. With its charming old-style architecture and welcoming atmosphere, Im sure you will love it.

One of the first things you'll notice about the Berry Hotel is its extensive menu, which offers something for everyone. Whether you're in the mood for shared plates, poke bowls, desserts, or a classic burger, you're sure to find something that hits the spot. And if you're visiting with little ones, the kids' menu is sure to be a hit.

Another standout feature of the Berry Hotel is its layout, which includes various rooms available for dining and drinking. This makes it a great destination for hosting multiple groups at once, whether you're planning a birthday party or a family get-together. And with plenty of parking available around the back, it's easy to find a spot to park and enjoy your time at the hotel.

Of course, no review of the Berry Hotel would be complete without mentioning its wheelchair accessibility. It's wonderful to see a venue that's so welcoming to all visitors, and this is definitely a big selling point for anyone who might have mobility challenges.

There's plenty of parking around the back, making it convenient for visitors, though street parking can be a little tricky to find nearby.

And if you're visiting with little ones, there's even a children's play area out the back of the main restaurant.

All in all, Berry Hotel is a lovely spot to enjoy a meal or drinks with friends and family.

The food and service I received was beyond amazing. I have an allergy to onion family and one of the kitchen staff come out and spoke with me to really work out what he could do to deliver the best meal possible. His knowledge and professionalism was amazing and made me feel so welcomed and safe with what I was eating.
The two people I was with both loved their meals, which was a pizza and crispy pork shoulder.
The meal its self was delicious and the service received just made it a perfect night. I will be going back to Berry Hotel and taking more friends.

Perfect place for a rainy winter day with the fires on! Doesn't matter which room you go to the atmosphere is peaceful and warm. The selection of food is great and the staff are very friendly. We often pop in here and love their themed trivia nights!

Recently sold to a Sydney based franchise. Prices have increased a bit, but the food quality is brilliant.
Not unusual prices for Berry at all. Beer is icy cold from the tap and a great selection. Good wine selection too.
There's a free membership option that gets you some discounts and offers.
Atmosphere is very homely.
The place can cater for small, medium and larger groups in the courtyard.
Definitely the nicer pub to be at in Berry.

Pumpkin & kale salad was surprisingly delicious! Highly recommend - I would definitely get it again!
My partner got the steak - asked for medium rare and it was medium well, but still tasty. Pretty standard pub grub.

Wasn't impressed with our first visit since the change in ownership. Food menu has changed. Big push for membership. The bar was busy which lead the bar tender to be quite rude to customers for simply ordering drinks. I totally understand being stressed when it's busy, but taking frustration out on customers ordering drinks at a bar isn't really acceptable. Food was average. Overall pretty disappointing as this use to be a great pub.

Amazing atmosphere. The staff were courteous and helped us select from their specials (definitely recommend). The food was well cooked and served rather quickly despite the volume of order prior to ours. Pricing was okay but well worth it. Will be visiting again.

Lovely lady greeted us and served us at the counter. Later went to check on the status of my food / kids meal. The lady bringing out the food came out unhappy saying it's only been 15 mins. I was only politely checking on the status, no need to be hostile.

Edit to reply to the admins comments:

Overall, food and drinks were great.

Our friends who ordered after us got their meals around 10 mins before us.
I wasn't there to complain about the timing, I genuinely considered that it's possible that the buzzer wasn't working.
Coincidentally, the lady who went to check on the food brought it out straight away.

Husband and I hesitated at the street entrance due to lack of buzz as other eating establishments had. We ventured inside to discover a fantastic venue, meal and staff attitude. My nachos were perfect with the pulled beef and ample toppings on generous amounts of corn chips. Husband declared it the best steak sandwich in years where the bun actually had sufficient integrity to be hand held and the steak tender enough to be bitten through and not requiring deconstruction or knife and fork to consume. We have paid equal amounts for far inferior fare in various eateries around the country. Finally a shout out to the cheery staff member who took our orders and also cleared tables. Her positive attitude put a good vibe spin on a gloomy rainy day.

We decided to stop and have lunch during a drive through Berry on a weekday and this pub did not disappoint at all! The service was super easy and really friendly and the meals arrived quickly! There was room to sit inside next to the open log fire, however we opted for the covered dining area at the back and there was plenty of room. There is one small step at the entrance then access through the pub is all on one level for those with limited mobility and there is a children's playground that is also easily accessible and visible through the back area. The menu had multiple options, we had a steak sandwich and a pulled por roll, both came with a reasonable deriving of fries in the side. After trying quite a few lunch places in Berry this will be our regular from now on! :)

Gorgeous old restored building. Very polite service. Our mulled wine was delicious. We drank it slowly looking out at the cold grey street. Then we were on our way

My husband and I came in for lunch on Thursday and we agreed it was probably the worst meal we have had in a long time!
Which we probably should of seen coming as the place was completely empty.
The staff were rude. There were hazards all around, one of the bar stools were gone but there was still a metal thing sticking out of the ground. I didn't see and I tripped and kicked my toe on it.

But what is getting 1 star is the horrible food!
We paid over $30 each for a sirloin streak medium rare.
It came out well down. The veggies were overcooked and soggy, the corn on cob was barely cooked at all and my husbands still had a corn lead attached to it. That's how little care the chef had. A full corn leaf.
The mash potato was flavourless and SO lumpy.
And the mushroom sauce was horrible.
The waitress didn't tell us we had to get our own cutlery so when the meals arrived and I ask if it came with cutlery she said "no, you have to get that yourself. It's inside". So I went and got it.

Nothing about our experience was good.
And we won't be returning, and certainly won't be recommending this place for food.

The Berry hotel is situated in Berry on the south coast of NSW..Aus. It is a fantastic old pub with lots of history like the town of Berry. Some excellent things to do around the area. The wineries are fantastic. The food is excellent and the boutique shops are fantastic for an unusual bargain... sometimes. The whole area is great for a short or long stay. Minutes from the beaches it's a fantastic area to explore.

Great ambience. Food was good and I would go back, but it wasn't all that memorable. Had the vegetarian nachos - a little light on the beans and fairly generous with the cornchips. Ill try something else next time.

Great visit to the Berry Hotel. We grabbed a drink special sangria and a beer. There was plenty of space and the little old inn was cool to see and imagine what would have been in the past. The ice hockey was on the telly and was good to watch. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.

A group of us had a great lunch. The staff we very kind, set up a table for 10 in the air conditioned cafe for us when it got a bit warm out the back. Beer was cold, burgers were very tasty.

Very cool vibe if you reserve a table in one of the side rooms with a fire place. Food is great, and the bartender was funny as. They also have Guiness on tap!

It's been years since I last visited, but I will definitely be back again soon. The front room oozes charm with an open fire and classic look and feel. Extra surprising this visit was the number of craft beers on tap, and not just the major crafts, but a variety of local beers and some from Sydney. We had the pork belly to share as an entrée and it was Divine. Very fatty, incredible crispy skin and mouth watering flavours of sauce and matching Vietnamese salad. I would return again just for this dish.
Also the kids were happy with nuggets and chips

Spacious place for lunch. Although the $30 medium rare steak was so dry and tasteless. Definitely not worth it. Kids fish and chips and nuggets with vanilla ice cream in a small tub was good for girls.

My partner and I rarely order the same but this time we both went for the surf and turf. It was totally delicious! He ordered his rate which was perfect, ordered mine medium rare and I'd call it well done. It was such a good quality steak that it was still tasty. Staff were friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back!

Service was impeccable thank you Charles. My family and I enjoyed a relaxed evening after spending a beautiful morning/afternoon at the beach.

We were immediately greeted with a warm and friendly face (Charles). He was professional, very informative but most importantly genuinely caring for his customers. He recommended the best foods and beverages the Berry Hotel had to offer - we were very impressed and satisfied.

Great work Charles & Berry Hotel, service was impeccable, food was great and your facilities were well maintained and absolutely beautiful. Well done!

I ordered and drank the beetroot, carrot, apple and ginger juice at the Berry Hotel today. Within 5 minutes I as in their toilet vomiting it up. Up till then I was perfectly well. I told the waitress who said it was a fresh batch and must have been "too strong" for me. She then charged us full price for lunch with no apologies. Will not be returning.
