What you can expect from a RSL, but nothing more. Neat, clean, the staff could be a bit more happy, especially at the reception where you feel like a criminal entering a prison. I'm glad they updated recently their policy to ask your drivers license and your phone number. Couple times I explained to them how's is that not so legal, hopefully they took in consideration. When I'm going somewhere for a coffee/drink/dinner why I should be expected to give all my personal info? Apart this food is good, coffee can get an improve but it's cosy and familiar.

We had my daughter's 3rd birthday there on Sunday, with 25 people. The staff were amazing and did such a great job with serving food and drinks and service was 5 start. Food was delicious with everyone getting all their meals at the same time and everyone said how nice their meals were. Thank you for making my little ones birthday so easy and enjoyable.

The club is now fully renovated. The dinning room is bright and light. Today is the start of Christmas in July. A well presented yummy 2 course dinner. See my photos. Great parking out the back. Staff very friendly and we would give the menu 9.9 out of 10. Also very cosy on a cold winters day.

You simply have to try the food here as it is absolutely fantastic. Plenty of beers on tap plus anything else you might want. Make sure you are hungry though as the meals are huge!!!
Anyway off to check out the dessert bar now.......

Had 300g porter house steak with mushroom sauce, chips and salad. Was very tasty, the others I was with also enjoyed there food.

This is my second time here and I recommend it if you want a more casual environment. Oh also has a child play area.

Last night, I had the chance to dine at the Bentleigh RSL with a large family group. The establishment was inviting, clean, and festively decorated with a Christmas theme. We took part in the $1 raffle, an attractive offer, and purchased some tickets. It was a relatively quiet evening with the venue at about 30% capacity.

We decided on the Wednesday special, which included a $25 pot and Parma. Unfortunately, our order was split; half arrived promptly, while the other half was delayed and only brought to our table after a 30-minute wait and a follow-up inquiry. Despite the wait, the meal itself was satisfying with good portions, delivering value for money. Taking into account the entire experience, I would rate the venue 4 stars.

Very ordinary service. Half full midweek and probably an hour wait for meals that all arrived separately and one that didn't arrive at all. Needed to provide proof that the transaction had gone through to the bank for the staff to believe that the order had actually been placed - these things happen but the attitude of the staff was poor and disbelieving that the error was at their end. We were "kicked out" of the dining area as they had to reset for next day despite the fact that our plates hadn't been cleared and had sat there for over an hour. Food OK but service sub optimal.

Besides the long wait, service by the cashier called Myles was excellent, and he went to the trouble to doublecheck that my meal did not include any garlic or onion in any of the ingredients. We had a seniors, chicken schnitzel with mash potato and veggies and also a barramundi chips and salad, tasty and very enjoyable meal. Grinds has a eggplant Parma and seniors barramundi.
Renovations and decor is lovely. After dinner, we had coffees in the lounge area next to a fireplace and chatted for a couple of hours in a relaxed atmosphere. Winning a few dollars on the pokies, added to the fun evening at this RSL.
Another note .. a gluten free menu is available and is pretty much the same as a normal menu.

Great place for a quick coffee or meal. It is a clean and bright venue with excellent service.

The lunch served yesterday was disgusting and one of the worst meals I have been served in a long time. The chicken, leek and mushroom pie was initially served burnt on the outside and barely lukewarm inside and the replacement pie was even worse. This time the top of the pie was not burned, but the filling was still barely warm and the pastry case was undercooked and raw dough in parts. There was barely a dessert spoon of watered down mashed potato studded with half-cooked peas as the only vegetable on the plate and it was swimming in a tasteless and tepid gravy. That meal was served almost 30 minutes after my companions had been served their meals. One of my friends had beef curry that, on the menu, it said was served with rice and roti but we did not expect the roti to be IN the bowl and topped with the curry! Normally this is served on the side as a bread would be. They had also run out of curry at midday and we were told only a small Seniors Meal portion was available. Take it off the menu if you have none available 30 minutes after service has started! It was almost as if they had kitchenhands masquerading as chefs today as the quality was so poor no self-respecting chef would serve food that was so bad.

This a friendly, welcoming club. Newly renovated, there are separate sections for the bistro, pokies and a sorts bar/lounge area.

Went here for a function and liked the place. Easy to find next to Bentleigh Woolworths and as not a member, needed to show drivers licence to get in. They had a big display of Easter egg baskets for raffle so brought 10 $1 tickets (fingers crossed!). Then went in for meal and had vegetarian Nasi Goreng which was really nice, while husband had fish and chips. There is lots of seating and they also have a private dining room. Though alas also have dreaded pokies. 17.4 here for meeting and looks like place getting a facelift, interested to see it. 22.5 the dining area has had a facelift and looks great, they've also updated tge menu and added 2 new meals for vegetarians like me, fantastic!

I ordered the spicy margarita. They put way too much salt in it not sure who made it but clearly smokes a heap of nicotine and thought it was okay to serve a drink that I felt like I was drinking from the ocean. Due to health concerns please do not get this drink! Im not sure who enjoys having half a thing of saxa salt in the drink...

satvik was a wonderful waiter, especially when he was handling so many guests at once. always had a smile on his face! worker of the week 100%!!!!

Humble, an honor each time I step inside and it's wonderful to have the traditional minute silence at 18:00 to Remember Them. Time stands still and every person switches off devices and pays respect.

Meals are fast to you but great size, variety and delicious. So many happy feels here!

It's my first time taking my parents to bentleigh RSL for a dinner. The food is ok with $20 special including drink. The kids gift was nice and generous. However the two female staff didn't seem friendly. One Asian lady was ok and the other was just rude in the end to us. There are some rules we are not aware, and restrictive compared to other restaurants. why not just tell us in a nice way rather than an aggressive manner which makes us very upset that we couldn't see the man waiting in front us when we were called to pay for the bill immediately. I hope this will be improved as politeness should be from the heart and mind, and also on a mutual basis.

This place is terrible. Staff badly need a course in customer service. A friendly smile goes a long way. My friend who has gastric issues asked for a well done steak and was told that the chef doesn't do well done. What chef can't cook a steak according to customer request. In the end they messed up the bill and tried to overcharge me. Will not be coming back here and would not recommend to anyone else either. Plenty of very nice rsl clubs in the area

It may have gone downhill. Lots of batter, lots of yellowed chips to fill up the plate. Got served the wrong meal, but the manager told me it was my fault, how's that? I was told the names of the meals are given as the waiter places it on the table. After protesting it wasn't my fault (I'm a customer not working in the kitchen) the next response was not to raise my voice. I'd never go back, and telling everyone I know, plenty of other places to go to.

Fantastic meal. Had the burger and chips with an apple cider for $20. It was a Tuesday night, they have different deals everyday . For dessert I smashed the snickers mouse, wish it was bigger. Service was fantastic. Thanks everyone

I'm not a great fan of RSL restaurants and this was no exception. However, I give them a big ??'?🏻 for the very friendly staff, excellent service, and fast food. Even if the food wasn't quite up to my standard we had a fantastic time.

Fantastic feed, excellent service, gluten free, and fully coeliac accredited! Had a wonderful dinner here with the family on Melbourne Cup day. Surprised it was relatively quiet, but I guess that's because everyone had a big lunch to watch the race. Easily booked online, the waitress was very nice and attentive, and the food was delicious. We'll definitely be coming back again.

The food here has really improved since reopening after covid. Dishes more interesting and better prepared. Prices have gone up a bit but it's better value now. Staff are more attentive too, taking more pride in their work.
