I mostly go there for drinks and playing pool and it is great! The service is great, they are really lovely to talk with and very polite. The atmosphere is always lively in the dining area and the bar alike. You can go here for a fun night with your friends. It'll be a good night!

Time for a renovation of the ground floor pub, it needs softening and a scrub.
Buying a schnitzel on a weeknight, $23....if you want sauce that's $3 extra.....if you don't want fries, then its $2 extra to swap it to mash....so in total $28 for a standard schnitzel, what a joke and nothing to write home about. Time for a reality check bar Cleveland....all of your locals are heading back to the bat&ball for the same schnitzel that is $11 cheaper. Menu items far too expensive for an average menu and fairly average food.

Hidden gem: the bistro food was very good!
Wgyu Beef Burger: Decent, well presented and well made. Fries crispy.
Greek Lamb (only available weekends): Amazing, soft and tender with a fresh Greek salad and perfectly roasted potatoes and pumkin.

I ate the Monday lunch special - Chicken Schnitzel. I have eaten a lot of Schnitzels and this one was definitely up there. It was quite thick and well cooked and the lemon was nice and fresh. As a bonus, the chips were the best I've had in a while, super crispy and delicious.

I celebrated my Birthday with my Fiancée at Bar Cleveland and what an amazing experience. The vibe was great, food absolutely delicious, drinks amazing and super friendly staff too. We'll definitely go back again as we truly had a beautiful time.

Although the food is ok, can't say the same for the "service". After waiting at the bar for around 10 minutes and being acknowledged by the bartender (who to be fair was busy at the time) I waited patiently.

All of a sudden a couple come from outside and walk to the counter, the bartender then just goes straight up to them to serve and ignores me. I have never seen such blatant disregard and obliviousness towards a customer, there was no excuse for it. If you love eating your food next to a highway with a side of carbon monoxide this is the place for you, I for one will not return.

Great food, drinks, friends in a great atmosphere. Went for their weekend Greek lamb shoulder roast. Delicious!

Our go to for a drink and eat before or after a Swans game. The food is generally tasty and well priced although last week's "salt and pepper calamari" was no such thing, it was basically just a grilled squid that had been overcooked on a greasy barbecue. I'd recommend you stick to pub basics when ordering here; the Schnitty, burgers, beef pie and fish & chips are always good. Service can be slow at the beginning of the footie season but is good once they remember they need extra staff when a game is on!

We hired this venue for a family event, and will definitely consider it for a future event. Organisation was quite easy thanks to the helpful staff, and the staff on the day were attentive and friendly. The upstairs function area has been nicely renovated and the food very tasty.

We held our engagement party in the upstairs function room which has recently been renovated and provided a perfect setting for our party. The events team could not have been more helpful prior to our event as well as on the day, every request we made was granted! The catering menu was also delicious and I wish we ordered more. Thanks to everyone there for making it a special occasion for us.

Chose this venue for a recent birthday party - the upstairs function area has been very well renovated. The staff were very helpful with organising and booking, available to answer any questions, and this continued through to the night itself where manager Dimitri and all of the team were very friendly. It is a great area for a party, with a separate bar, toilets and our own music. The food platters were excellent and well received by guests. The other positive was that afterwards, we could go downstairs to the pub until 4am. I have no hesitation recommending this venue and thank the staff for helping to make it a great night. (The pub itself has genuine character with great food and drinks too).

One of the highlights of Surrey Hills/Waterloo. Great old pub with a nice blend of modern feel and the history of 1800's Sydney. Put this pub on your to do list because its one to do. Great service from the staff who let me taste a few IPA's before I settled on this lovely Battler. Five stars.

The Sunday Roast is fantastic, get the whole shoulder if you can. The burgers are excellent, especially the Mega Cleveland with Shun the Bun. The chips are the best around! Super friendly staff too!

Have some of the great nights/evening at bar Cleveland on Fridays after work. Great atmosphere and they have great pub food too. Very friendly service. It gets quite busy on weekends so get there early for a fun evening/night.

Just hit the up bottle shop real quick! Handy as it closes at midnight on Satd.

I spent many great nights at The Cleveland and made some life long friends here. If you want a no-frills pub in one of the trendiest places in Sydney, then this is your spot. It gets quite busy on a Friday night, so it's best to get in quick or book a table.

The Cleve offers good pub grub, friendly service and a lively atmosphere on Friday's. There's even a pool table out the back with a few arcade games.

Quiet drinks or dinner or functions upstairs you won't be dissapointed

Been coming here for decades and it was nothing special.On my first visit post-Covid-19 recently, the taste and presentation of the food had improved out of sight. Despite the barman's protestations to the contrary, it's obvious that they had changed their chef. It was relatively quiet, though still buzzy for a weekday.Btw, i drove past there the Saturday evening beforehand and it was pumping with drunk loud young people who appeared to be backpackers and had absolutely no regard for social distancing; I recommend you avoid this place on the weekends.

Great hospitality here, very professional staff and the Trivia on a Wednesday evening is well run and a lot of fun!
