Great outdoor spaces on a hot sunny day with shady umbrellas, cold drinks, and great food. We visited on a Wednesday and were met by friendly accommodating staff, who went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
Reasonably priced, we had hamburgers and chips $16.99 and icy cold wine.

I recently dined at Balgownie Hotel and had an overall enjoyable experience. The restaurant boasts a sophisticated and welcoming ambiance with tasteful decor, creating a pleasant atmosphere for a meal. The staff were incredibly attentive, providing excellent service.

I had the chicken schnitzel which tempered my enjoyment of the meal due to the steep prices. While the quality of the food and service is commendable, the overall cost seems to exceed the value offered. The menu prices may leave diners questioning whether the experience justifies the expense.

It was wonderful to find a place that offers more than one vegan option. There was a couple on the menu and one on the specials. Not a bad atmosphere either. Has a garden nice place to go as a family

Great menu selections, easy to order through QR code/App, value for money. Food cooked perfectly and arrived in reasonable time considering it was a peak Saturday night . Massive shout out to the kitchen and bar staff. Friendly service and will return in the future.

P.s. it would be nice to win a meat tray in the raffle. Just once ! Haha the fishing club run raffle is great and they donate to charities.

A very welcoming hotel. The staff here are excellent! They have fantastic customer service. Drag Queen Trivia is great fun and would highly recommend. The food was great. We were a group of 8 and everyone loved the meal that they ordered. Would definitely recommend this venue!

Hands down the best pub food in the entire South coast. This place has ruined us to have pub food anywhere else. I love their chicken schnitzel with mash and vegetables. My husband likes their nachos and their sirloin steak. Everything is always cooked beautifully, so tasty and service is fast. I've never had a bad meal there yet. Excellent food and the pub is very clean and the staff are friendly. I rarely leave reviews and if I do, a place needs to be consistently very good. Highly recommend

The female staff member is rude and unfriendly. Dont work in a people job if you hate people so much! This is one of the reasons why we haven't been to Bally pub in so long and probably wont return in a hurry!

Went to restaurant on Thurs night for dinner. They didn't have some of the meals that were on the menu, and then they forgot one of our mains. Then forgot the dessert. And it seemed like they were annoyed with us that they forgot it... Just not fab service. However the lamb shanks were amazing. Friends we were with who attend regularly did comment on how small the meals have gotten. Apparently it was much better value previously.

The menu was cut down during the pandemic and hasn't been brought back. Limited pub grub. It's a pity because it was great in the past and had potential if they decided to make some effort.

Worst service with a family meal , couldn't even bring out nachos with other meals , staff didn't care and when they did bring out the meal 10 minutes after the other mains were finished,no apologies and we left the meal with management , also had trivia night at same time with I'm not sure what gender the host was but it was very crude . None of the regulars we went with don't go there any more and I certainly won't . Make a choice not to visit that pub

The bar staff were fantastic. Jayden is a great customer service attendant. Always checking in and making sure my night was going well and had my plan B organised. Even fended off a few creepers. Love your work Jayden. You deserve a raise!!

Very disappointed with lunch service. Ordered our meal first still waiting 1 hour later , not happy.One of the lady chefs very loud and not helpful . Average meal.
Also the pool table is in even and has been complained about and not fixed .

Best Easter lunch ever ? the seafood was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was great. Very helpful and friendly staff. Venue manager visited our table several times to make sure everything met our expectations. Would give 6 stars if I could

Food excellent but veggies and potatoes were salty. The bar and dining room areas are always clean but the pokies area was very very smoking. Need separate area for smoking pokies players. It just seemed like I was back in the 1980's.

Attended a function on Saturday night, great room with beautiful views, staff were friendly and food was amazing. Will definitely book my functions there in future

Nice atmosphere as they get ready for xmas. Service extremely friendly and the best salt and pepper calamari and snitty. I always judge a pub on its snitty and it certainly gets my go to vote

I went to Balgownie Hotel with a small group of friends for dinner. The food tasted Amazing and service was matching. Could not recommend enough. Will be back for sure
