The place needs a face lift. Friendly staff and patrons, but it's dark and dinjy.
Could do with big windows on the front of the pub, like the Gateway, so customers can watch life go by whilst enjoying a beer🙂

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Atherton Hotel, and I must highlight the exceptional service provided by Lisa, the bartender. From the moment I walked into the bar, Lisa's warm and welcoming demeanor set a positive tone for the evening. She was not only lovely and nice but also incredibly helpful throughout my visit.

Lisa's knowledge of the drink menu was impressive, and she took the time to make personalized recommendations based on my preferences. Her attention to detail and genuine care for the guests truly stood out. Whether it was crafting the perfect cocktail or engaging in friendly conversation, Lisa made the experience memorable.

It's clear that Lisa takes pride in her work and goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels valued and well taken care of. Her outstanding service is a testament to the high standards of the Atherton Hotel. I highly recommend stopping by the bar and experiencing Lisa's wonderful hospitality firsthand.

Cathy was fantastic! She was so attentive, and only too happy to accommodate our requests with a smile and a laugh. Our meals came out super quick, and my fish of the day meal - barra- was so delicious, wish I had more to be honest.

Good pub dinner option
The Atherton Hotel bistro offers the standard pub menu items and crowd pleasers. Our meals were reasonable value for money and the portions were good. We were staying at the hotel (Nightcap at Atherton Hotel) - so we got a free drink and 10% discount.

Stayed in a room facing the front street - whilst the room itself was spacious the street noise was quite loud. The walls also appear to be reasonably thin as I could easily hear the neighbours TV. I wanted to have a shower at 9pm and there was no hot water left either- it wasn't a problem with the service as it was luke warm but ran out after 2 mins. Wouldn't stay here again, I booked thinking it was central and other reviews said it was refurbished and quiet - not my experience.

Had lunch here today, ordered from the Seniors and Lunch menus - most meals were $16 to $18. Fantastic value for money and very friendly service from Cathy. Meals were just the right size for lunch, not too small, not too big and were delicious. Chips were crunchy! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a value lunch meal and friendly service.

Great night out here we came after a fanily event tonight. The staff we're really accomodating and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. Very happy with the whole experience and would highly recommend to anyone

Ordered 3 meals on a Wednesday night, and asked if we could sit outside as we had a dog and someone on crutches. The waitress said all good I'll bring it out. Not a soul in the entire pub, and it was pouring rain. With about 1/3 of the meal to go we get asked to leave by the manager as we can't eat in the smoking area, which was completely empty. We explained we'd been told it was ok, and was told that we were wrong, and had to leave or come inside, which clearly wasn't an option. We then had to walk through the pouring rain with a 1/3 of a schnitzel, with one person on crutches. All for absolutely no one to be in the pub.

Highly recommend The Atherton Hotel for great size rooms, we had a queen bed & there were two singles as well. Clean & welcoming. Service was friendly & happy. They do need to change their kettles in the room though as coffee tasted like plastic. Position in right in the Main Street. Would come again as it also has a good local rate.

My self and a good mate went there for dinner tonight and we had chicken parmesan. It was the best meal I have had with smoke bacon cut up in small pieces. It was cooked well and very tasty.

The stay was absolutely amazing the food was delicious and the beds were really comfortable I would stay there again next time if I get the chance to the staff were friendly and helpful and the time I had there was just amazing,

My Mum and I enjoyed dinner at the Bistro in the Atherton Hotel 🏨 tonight.
It had a nice friendly atmosphere, was decorated nicely with old time wall murals and photographs and my Mum loved her seniors baked dinner which was very good value for $16. We would highly recommend it and love to come back if we visit in the future.

The food and drinks were incredible; so tasty and large portioned, the staff were great, Shelley was our waitress and she was lovely and very welcoming, we took her food recommendations and were not disappointed, definitely will be back again!

My husband and I had dinner here last night. We chose from the seniors selection and both of us enjoyed our meals. The person that served us from behind the bar was courteous and hard working. Visiting this hotel was definitely a positive experience.

Nice meal great staff .they had a pink night in the function room for breast cancer survivors which we ended up going in it was my birthday so the host sang happy birthday mister president to me and gave me present as well great night thanks to all staff and host

Excellent meal, steak cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere, perfect service and such a laugh. Audrey's hospitality was and Heidi's service was phenomenal.

Great pub in a great location. Gavin in the bistro is flat out 10/10 on his customer service. Food was great quality. Rooms very comfortable and clean and modern. Great operation.

Rooms are great, new modern and big.
It was difficult to get served at the bar, I am not sure where the staff were? But when I did get eventually get served the staff were polite.
Dinner was dry and chewy.

Back parking so you don't have to park on street, so that was good.

If you want a great and relaxing place to stay in Atherton, then look no further! This hotel has the friendliest staff in town, accommodating every request, they know the town and surrounds to guide you in the right direction. The rooms were comfortable, the bar convenient, and great food in the bistro! Our rooms were looked after very well by housekeeping.

Beautifully redecorated rooms. Soft comfortable bed, lovely bathroom. So happy with everything. Would definitely recommend staying there. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only downfall is they don't offer breakfast but Maccas is just across the street.

Surprisingly great rooms and very comfortable. Great bed and pillows. Rain shower with hot water quick to the tap. Great bistro menu and large variety of meals available to choose from. I had a 12 night stay with an international traveler and we both enjoyed the experience.

Meals in the bistro were great, cold beer, friendly staff, rooms are modern, clean and well appointed, as the room was for 2 people there was only 1 chair, a small 2 seater couch would have been perfect in this large room, would recommend and stay again

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Sheree for going above and beyond in looking after me New years eve. The entire team there are such lovely people who really look after you. Especially when I stayed there in October 2022.

Overall great experience at this pub on the weekend! took my family out for dinner, good food, great service and friendly staff! Had a yarn with the owner/manager, was a barrel of laughs! 10/10 recommend this great establishment.

Ordered two steak, oysters, garlic bread and two crème brûlées for take away for 6:45 ordered at 6:15 got there at 6:50 and asked for our food we then got told it wasn't ready and had to wait we sat there until 7:30 and finally got our food we where told the steaks where re cooked because they had been sitting for to long got home (a 10 min drive) and everything except the chips where cold but I wouldn't call the chips hot either had to microwave everything because it was to cold to eat ordered two crème brûlées the ice cream that came with them was melted we ordered over the phone to save time and was extremely disappointed in what we received everything was marked as packed at 7pm and we didn't receive our food until after 7:30pm!!!

We stopped into Atherton Hotel to grab some lunch. The food from the bistro was really nice. Good proportions, and reasonably priced. The staff were helpful and friendly too.

I had the best steak dinner here this week. The eye fillet was so tender and juicy, it melted in my mouth. Perfect portions of chips and salad made a delicious combo. I left satiated and satisfied. My compliments to the chef, Kieran. I'll be back to eat here with friends this week, after spreading the good word of" steak to die for". It's a nice relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant, perfect for a beer and a pub dinner.

Service was really good and it is obvious that they care about the establishment. Room is spacious and the bathroom seems to have recently had some additions to it (heat lamps and mounted hair dryer). The food at the bistro was excellent and the servings are nicely sized. Jake has been absolutely excellent with service and queries - cannot fault!

Had grandson birthday party at the hotel. Ashley was terrific organised everything. The kids and adults had a great time.

I walked into the hotel not knowing if I would be able to get a room. My work schedule wasn't set in stone, I could only try to get a room as I arrived in town. The guest services was fantastic. She helped me with everything that I needed. My room was clean and tidy. Dinner was great, the service was amazing, and everyone was very friendly. A 10% discount was offered on dinner just for staying in the hotel.
The hotel is also right on the main street, I was able to walk to the Crystal Caves to get a geode. No matter the reason or the season, I will definitely stay here again. Thank you all for the great stay.

The nicest hosts you could hope to have. Affordable, very comfortable twin share room with nice mountain view. Some road noise but it's at a distance. Would definitely stay again.

We had dinner on a Saturday night. The staff were fantastic, attentive & service was quick. Special thanks to Kate our waitress.
I had pork ribs which literally fell off the bone. The beef pie was also excellent.
For dessert I tried the sticky date pudding which was delicious.
We will be coming again during our stay!

Quiet, friendly hotel. Exceptional bar service and the bistro food excellent, especially if Katie is your host for the night... goes above and beyond to make sure that you enjoy yourself

My husbands lamb chops were overcooked and tough and it tasted like the oil had not been changed, nearly rancid. Only 2 chops, if you go down the road to the BV you get a minimum of 3 and at times more. Much better value for money and cooked to perfection and you don't have to ask for the gravy.

Last minute decision to stop overnight in Atherton and it was a great choice. Fine old country pub with generous room and friendly people. Will stay here again.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms are large, spacious and the beds comfortable. Everything that a family needs is available. OK, just a basic TV but how much time would you be watching that when there is so much to do and see around Atherton. We had such a stress free stay

Comfy bed, spacious room and bathroom. Bathroom has a large spa bath, but bath and sink plugs are deliberately removed by management. Go figure? They call it "non-essential items.

Great place quite peaceful good bedding for multiple people pending on the number of such clean and tidy rooms loved it I'd defiantly recommend this before any other

Fantastic food (Great steak!) and friendly service. The Family loved it.

Came here for dinner and order the chef special 300g grilled rump with bacon eggs and chips. Cooked all of it to perfection and even got to finish it of with a crem brulle. Amazing customer service with incredible well present and kind staff. If possible I would rate it 10/5.

Though they did some reimbursement for lost property, what they stated was ever unconvincing, as we are still there staying, not checked out, they threw our stuff which was in a see through (transparent) plastic bag as RUBBISH, though that was a brand new item and a usable item. NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

Good service and friendly staff. Great location. Nice rooms - comfortable and clean. A pleasant stay. And a complimentary brekkie pack into the bargain!
