Reviewing 6 points cafe. Food was good, prices a bit above average even for members, but the staff were sweet, including the hornets staff too. A lot of seating and dedicated smoking spot outdoors.

Fantastic venue for a family get together of all ages ! We had 25 people on the outdoor deck and there was was plenty of grass for the kids to run around or play on the jumping castle. The food was delicious and excellent service made it wonderful afternoon.
We will be back for future family functions ðŸ'

Food is lovely, but over priced.

All the "Vouchers" that come with the membership have ridiculous clauses forcing you to spend up to three times as much as they're offering.

Most the staff are lovely, but do not take your kids here.

It's totally fine for regulars in droves to leave their children unsupervised and in large numbers.

But one parent on their own is much easier to approach and insult than 12 parents not supervising their kids though, right?

I live six doors away and was looking forward to having a new local.

I'm reviewing the Bistro. The food and prices are above average. The main issue is the ordering system. Sometimes you have to sit and wait for a long time before someone comes to take your order. Perhaps they should consider installing QR code online ordering system where patrons can pay using their smart phones online to expedite service and free up tables.

Had lunch at the Club on Anzac Day. Sat overlooking the field which was most enjoyable. We certainly found our meals delicious & was very impressed that Louise came out & took our orders on the verandah, checked we were happy with the food & cleared the table regularly. Great service! Thank you. Our first visit, but we will be back.

Staff are wonderful, we have had quite a few functions at Hornets and are always happy.
We had platters of scones and mixed sandwiches for an afternoon function which were lovely.

A little disappointing this time. My ravioli was cool and the sauce was very plain; not very Italian-tasting. We cleared our own table after our mail meal. My friends loved their meal. I'm hoping it was just an off day.

I enquired about booking for a large group. That was on Sunday. I dropped in on Tuesday and was told a few different things by different staff. Available staff did their best while the boss was unavailable. I booked on the Tuesday. On Wednesday, I was then told, by the booking boss, that large groups need to pay extra to eat there. I cancelled my booking. Fairly large capacity venue and willing to take my booking only if I booked an extra room at extra cost.
Edit, I booked elsewhere.

2 years ago I gave the hornets a 5 star review. Today, I unfortunately change it as, well, we had a terrible experience recently.

The chef has a LOT to learn about cooking.

Firstly, for $14 husband got 4 tiny pieces of pork. 1 of which was entirely fat.

Next up, mains. Seafood gnocchi looked great, I'll give them that. Unfortunately, vegan gnocchi shouldn't have bacon in it, not should it taste of seafood and finally, it's a good idea to chop and COOK the garlic. The garlic, I can personally get over as I do love it, even if it was overpowering. But bacon and seafood.....??? The waitress came to the table and told us "he uses the same spoon for mixing all of the dishes so the spoon just had some bacon on it.

Um....

We got a voucher for the value of the vegan gnocchi which expires in 1mth.

We won't be back if the chef doesn't understand/care about cross contamination and anaphylaxis risks. Luckily I'm not anaphylactic.

Went for Trivia and a meal on Tuesday night. The menu looked amazing on paper and I was really looking forward to trying a new dish. Unfortunately, everything we ordered was horrible. Chicken wings were extremely overcooked and tasted like freezer burn. Pistachio crusted lamb rump looked amazing on the plate but the lamb was also extremely over cooked and undigestable. I couldn't keep it down. Really disappointed because I was looking forward to enjoying this meal.

The meeting rooms are great for functions and conventions.

The staff are friendly and cater to our needs for early starts in the morning before the official opening time.

I am here every Friday night with friends. It's a lovely place. The staff are friendly, want to help and obviously well trained. We have a restaurant meal every Friday and the salmon is to die for!

Went there for my daughters bridal shower held by her bridesmaid for a lunch and afternoon tea. The room was good, but the fruit platter that was paid for never appeared, the scones were only a half one each and the cream tasted awful and wasn't enough. When complained about , they never responded. Claimed they contacted my daughter and resolved but this is not true

Currently, on this Monday night 9/5, the dining room is doing table service. This strategy is not working. We waited for at least 20-25 minutes before we had someone come to our table to take our order.
Otherwise, a pleasant location to eat and would recommend it.

A huge shout out to Louise and her team who helped our family celebrate my Nonna's 90th birthday this past weekend. Louise was amazing, helping my mum through the entire process, no ask was too big for her, thank you so much Louise. Bar and floor staff were also amazing and food was great thanks to the kitchen staff. A wonderful venue for events!

Went to a 90th Birthday Party today and the chef gets a 10 out of 10 For the both meals served at the function in room 2 The steak was the best I have ever had eating out .Aunty said the fish was wonderful as well and a very generous serve as well.

Had a very disappointing experience yesterday. I ordered two steaks medium with chips & salad. Our meals came out within 10 minutes of ordering... super fast. But we were served steak that was more rare than normal rare steak & cold, soggy chips. We asked the waitress for our steaks to be remade and she agreed with us that our steaks were less cooked than a normal rare steak and she will get our meals remade she was lovely! But when she went into the kitchen the chefs looked out to us like we were such nuisances... which was not very nice at all. Our meals took a further 25 minutes to be cooked and clearly the chefs were not happy about it so they made sure it was most definitely cooked and we received the most over cooked steak we have ever had it was more cooked than well well done. It was so hard and the outside was completely burnt black. Very disappointing experience.

We went there today for a light lunch and a coffee. We ordered sandwiches assuming they would be made with fresh bread.They were made with stale toast bread and were dreadful. I think if they haven't got fresh bread people should be given the option of toasting.

It's unique that you have table service in the bistro. They've avoided QR codes (thank God), and you don't queue to order or take a buzzer. Definitely trying to be more of a restaurant, then a bistro. But, invest in staff. The wait for your order to be taken can be a bit long if you don't flag down your server. And the menu lacks any salad options as a meal. The steaks have been on point however. I do wish the schnitzels were better than the industrial mass produced versions they are.

Aspley Hornets Football Club have catered for some of our private family functions. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food has always been great. If you're planning a birthday party or other celebration I would definitely recommend this venue.

Everytime we go to the hornets the waitress Hayley makes us feel very welcome, always remembers us and acknowledges our babies growth which makes everything so personable. She seen us and made sure the baby seat and colouring pack was ready for our kids. Best customer service, great food and atmosphere. But shoutout to Hayley she is an asset to your business!!

Stopped visiting this venue because they never get the order correct. Tried again today. Should not have bothered. Asked for two fresh sandwiches. Came toasted. No further comment needed.

First time visiting with my wife and daughter. We had a lovely meal, everything was cooked perfectly and portion sizes were spot on.

We will be back for more fantastic meals soon.

Disappointing from the beginning. Plenty of staff yet zero capability. The meals were cold, the staff member who tried to sort out one of the incorrect meals being delivered was extremely rude and made it clear we were an inconvenience. We mentioned to another staff member about our disappointment after being asked how our meals were yet nothing further happened from this... why ask? The food was poor but the bistro staff are what made the experience a 1 star (would be zero if an option). We not recommend

Great place, but the parking absolutely "sucks"..... If you don't get there early enough you miss out.
Outside of that? Great food but some of the staff can come across as a bit crabby. I would still return though ☺️

Desperately needs a kids section. Would be there so much more, but with a little tribe with us it's very hard to keep them entertained at Hornets once the foods gone. Still 5 stars for the cold beer, great tucker, friendly staff and terrific atmosphere.

This club has improved immensely. The new menu is great with some interesting dishes and generous serves. Very friendly staff , the newbies are very keen to learn and appear to know their stuff. Keep up the great work.

Tonight was the first time we have been here. We came to watch the AFL team play and we stayed for a meal. What amazing staff. They took care of us so well and nothing was too much trouble. What a great team of people you have. Thank you.

Went for lunch Wednesday and it was disgustingly inedible. Happens so often at this club. One month food is spectacular and next month NOT. They really need to get some good chefs and maybe pay them good money as an enlargement to stay.

The wife and I went to Hornets tonight with the kids. I tried the Mongolian Beef and it was the best meal I've had there in my 10 years of visiting Hornets.

Excellent food. Had dinner there with my wife. Chef Brodie did an amazing job with our food. Crispy skin barramundi and lamb shank!

Honestly will never dine here again. Everything was abysmal. Staff didn't pay attention to patrons and it was difficult to get their attention when we needed it. The wait for entrees then the wait for main meals were 30mins plus each and the place wasn't even full. The sizes of each meal weren't worth the price. The taste and food quality...horrible.
One pasta meal was supposed to be "spicy"; the person eating it had trouble with how over the top spicy it was (a person who loves hot spicy things too).
Some of us had the "Chicken Snitzel" which tasted nothing like chicken! Only way I can describe the taste is like cheap freezer fish but gross, not even like chicken.
Some of us had seafood platters; it looked and tasted like it all came from the cheapest supermarket freezer seafood boxes. Fish especially tasted terrible. The size of the pieces of seafood were also very small, again especially fish.
The only thing that was decent and worth the prices were the chips.

An extremely pleasant club and surrounds. Great outlook over the training facilities and playing field. Staff are friendly and very helpful for visitors. Nice meals served.

Exceeded the expectations of an average pub feed. Some unusual/ special flavours on the menu. Service was light speed. The chips were phenomenal and the steak was done perfectly to my liking.

Covid friendly safe club. Large dining area with good meals. Good range of slot machines.

Fantastic facilities sporting and recreational. Excellent to watch high level Aussie Rules on the deck. With a good bistro , gaming room ,TAB , and kids room , Hornets cater to all demographics

I love this place, the lunchtime Filos are great. Every now and again i snag a 2 for 1 drinks deal. Easy drop off for anyone who has a disability and always friendly staff.

Love the Aspley Hornets. We come here quite regularly. Had lunch again last Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Plenty of variety in the menu, staff great. Looking forward to our next visit.

Although my visits are to watch footy, the clubhouse is very well appointed.

A feature I like is the management is always looking at ways to ensure it stays modern and comfortable.

I myself enjoy the food at the club which has a good selection of dishes to suit all meal times.

There is a separate walled off area with a TAB which on the weekends is very popular.

There is plenty of parking and it caters for people with disabilities.

Finally the staff are friendly and professional from my experience while willing help you when asked.

In regards to the staff there is a good mix of people with those at the beginning of their careers right through to those who have a lifetime of experience, this I believe is a key ingredient in making the club atmosphere relaxed and pleasant.

Really limited choice poor lunch menu. Ingredients not of high quality and quality and creativity poor. Really regret choosing the Hornets for s special family occasion. Bright side was got to watch a game they happened to be on, but there is literally 4 classic items and 3 mains on the menu. No vegetarian option other than 2 crappy entre salad. Luckily I am not vegetarian.

Been going here since i was born. Its not as good as it used to be but its not as bad as it was at one point. Food is good. Service is satisfactory. Its very family oriented with pokies and sportsbar for parents to run off to to let their kids spend time with their grandparents ud83dude02but overall pretty good.
