Atmosphere is pretty good, playground is great for kids. Food very disappointing. Understand it was busy, but the burger bun was rock hard and the burger very dry. Adult meals came out awkwardly long apart. Was very loud even sitting in the outdoor area. We won't be going back.

Lovely staff, unfortunately a few of our orders were missing or not up to standard. Staff were great about sorting these meals out, but we had already waited a considerable amount of time.
I thought the outside tables looked lovely, and were closer to playground. We were seated inside and it was quite noisy.
Staff get a 5/5 for helpfulness and friendliness.

Prices are outrageous. $5.30 for a glass of postfix lemonade and $4.90 for a can of Coke - and with credit card fees on top? And then the cups at the water fountain are coffee-stained so they clearly aren't using the money for cleaning.

They have contactless ordering on the table (which adds another fee if you choose to use it) but note the pricing doesn't reflect the lunchtime specials - eg Friday wrap is $16 in the menu, $18 via the contactless ordering.

I think I'd rather just go elsewhere than deal with having to double check the price of everything like you do here at Argenton Pub. By all means come here and enjoy the food but have your eyes open they're trying to gouge you at every step.

The food was disgusting. Firstly there were lots of raw onion on my pasta (big chunks) and was unbelievably salty. Even saltier than this review.
How can too totally stuff up a pasta dish?

When I say rooms I mean we used the little function room for a 50th birthday lunch.
It was lovely but far too warm and stuffy. We had doors pinned open trying to get some air movement.
It is disability and mobility friendly, clean, modern and good food.

Went for a late lunch with my Mum, Sister and my 4 kids we rang first to make a booking the table was not clean I cleaned it myself with the cleaning gear that was just left on a trolley with no staff to ask, the staff were not friendly and food came out slow and cold not to mention after all that they rudely came and told us how long we had left before we had to leave as lunch was finishing and they needed the table back! So after the small fortune we just spent there... The kids playground was ok but they best be careful of the burn patch hole on the ground somebody may trip and hurt themselves! After such a bad experience at this place it truly has turned me off and I will never go back to this place again.

Attended on a Friday night. The place is great. Service excellent. Food was nice but the live music started at dinner time and it was so loud that no one could have a conversation. The older people on our table really struggled. It was very disappointing. It was lovely to have live music but please consider the volume. After 8pm is fine to have louder music.

I came here for a birthday dinner, the food was a bit of a let down.
My burger was pretty cold and the bun was really dry and I thought may have been stale, not alot of sauce on the burger either.
I had the Vegan burger which I have had the same patty elsewhere that did a much better job.

The place was packed with a tonne of kids running around.

Went there on Wednesday night for dinner with a few family members. Myself and husband both ordered the vegan burger and garlic bread.
The garlic bread was great but our burgers were not. They were cold, dry as they didn't have much sauce on them and the buns themselves felt like they were stale.

We didn't bother to complain as there was about 15-20 people lined up to order food.

While we greatly appreciate more places having vegan options, it appeared the burgers and garlic bread were the only option on the menu.
No options for salads, small plates or desserts.

Otherwise, lovely seating area inside and out. Plus a huge playground for kids.

The Licensee in charge Chris has fully restored faith in the customer service of the hotel. Our family love it there and we enjoy the food and function area on a regular basis !

After a poor experience from a staff member over the phone - Chris personally reached out and went above and beyond to talk me through the situation in an extremely professional manner.
Im glad he is running this hotel and look forward to the hotel rectifying some slight details.

Food was good it just took a little while to come out, and they served the kids meals first for some reason. The play area for the kids is great and there's lots of places to sit down with the whole gang, The prices were reasonable, same with the drinks behind the bar. The place itself was nice but I just didn't feel that greeted as I walked in and up to the bar.

Fantastic service today not only in person but over the phone from the team at Argenton Hotel. Kellie was also incredible. Fantastic customer service and genuinely cares about her customers. Well done! This venue is amazing and we will certainly be back.

Nice spacious location, however terrible service. I ordered a chicken schnitzel with gravy and the gravy came out stone cold. I mentioned it to the person that was bringing our food out and she took the whole plate away and seemed really inconvenienced, the gravy came back still cold. My friend is vegetarian and ordered the vegan burger as it was the only option, she ordered it with some adjustments which included cheese and a different sauce on the burger. The burger came out without cheese and the sauce on the side, she told the person bringing out the food and they took the burger then returned with the same burger now with a slice on cheese on it, she reminded him the sauce was also wrong so again he took the burger and the very same burger came back with the new sauce on the top. By now the burger was cold, the cheese was cold on the cold burger (usually if you're getting cheese on a burger you want it slightly melted at the very least) the sauce that came on the burger originally (and wasnt wanted) on the bottom and the altered sauce in top of the burger. As you can imagine it was very cold by this point. Outside of these inconveniences the food was pretty average, especially for the price. Our booking was for 1130 and there wasn't very many people there when we ordered but by the time we got our food it was pretty busy. I would assume the kitchen was poorly staffed for how busy it was. I definitely won't be returning.

Great kids play area. Food not bad and amicable prices. Meat tray raffels and very enjoyable live music. An easy Friday night with kids for sure.

We met up with friends on a Sunday night. The kids had a blast playing in the playground. The food was excellent; my steak was cooked perfectly. Table service was also prompt. Overall, 5 out of 5 stars. (Not sure what the 1-star reviewers are talking about!)

The food portions were great. Prices were fair and the kids had a ball on the play equipment. The kitchen was up front with the wait time and delivered a great meal. Would recommend for family's with kids

One of the best hotels for children to play, has a large playground and a sizeable dining area next to it, Kids area is also open from 10am to 10pm which makes it amazing for families, as for the waitresses they are not the nicest of people around, the food was cold and 2 drops of gravy, the table we sat on was dirty (real dirty) no one cleaned it so we ended up doing it. Because of these pitfalls 3/5. lets see if anything changes the next time I go.

I have enjoyed several visits to this great hotel which has a very good selection of beers, superb food and a fabulous play area for kids. Disappointingly though on the last visit, despite it being quiet, food service was uncharacteristically slow and the Four Pines Pale Ale we enjoyed wasn't available for a second round. It was Monday so assume the result of a busy weekend.

This place really has gone down hill. Food used to be decent and value for money. Now it is over priced and awful.

I ordered the salt and pepper calamari for $16. It's supposed to come with a side of rocket. It arrived so overcooked that eating a plate of rubber bands would have been an improvement. No rocket in sight, only a few limp bean sprouts that added exactly nothing to the dish.

I know they just take it straight from the freezer to the deep fry, but at least don't fry it so long it no longer resembles its original state. It was totally inedible and a waste of $16.

Maybe employ some older/more experienced cooks for your kitchen because the teenagers you have working there are not producing quality food. I know service is difficult, particularly in a busy place, but places that do it well respect their patrons and aim to please.

It's so disappointing because it's a great venue for families, but the food just detracts significantly from the whole experience.

We had a family booking here last week and there was a mix up! However staff at the Argy made it happen, no fuss and accommodated all of us! Meals were delicious and trivia was a bonus! Thanks guys appreciated ?

Came for a catch up dinner and everything was perfect. The food was beyond amazing, and even though it was busy it all came out really quickly.

Very bad experience. Vegetables and mash was stone cold. One of our orders (Salt and Pepper squid with a side of salad) took over an hour to come out. Finally came out after 20people at our table had already finished eating. The well-done steaks came out quicker. Not a gud first experience. Was complemented with a soft drink.

Me and my family were served by a staff member called Darcy which was nothing short of professional and friendly. Darcy's customer service and the overall quality of the atmosphere would have me coming back to this venue again. The Argenton Hotel has improved substantially since its renovations and having quality staff like Darcy working is definitely worth making a visit to.

I tend to go to places twice before I leave a review, and I'm surprised by the other reviews with lower scores.

Granted, I've not been here for dinner and it may be that the evening meals are prepared under different pressure conditions.

Both times I've come have been during the week and were for lunch. I ordered two different things, both came out after a reasonable time, tasted fresh and well cooked.

There was a broad selection of drinks on tap or available as bottles and cans.

The play area, though I didn't bring my kids, appears incredibly inviting for kids aged 4 and up unless they are great climbers already.

Constructive feedback from observation of those that ordered the same dish as each other on my tables would be to ensure, for example, two schnitzel servings were the same as each other. And they were not from different menus. Consistency is key.

That being said, my experience was still 5 star.

Great food that was prepared quickly and served not long after ordering. Gluten free options are labelled clearly and the staff are very understanding of Coeliac's. I recommend their popcorn chicken!

This is incredibly different and better now than what this pub previously was. It was previously pretty rough and dingey. Great renovations, great atmosphere, good prices, a great space. Recommended!

Went for the first time since the renovations. The new coastal vibe the place has is a nice upgrade. As before, plenty of screens to enjoy sports with large amounts of people. Heaps of space, though not much parking space. I had pasta that was very bland, but everyone else enjoyed their meals. So take from it what you will. 4 stars.

Service was fine, no wait time to order. Food was extremely disappointing for a $30 meal. Food was cold, salmon was cold and had a watery flavour and the crispy potatoes tasted like they were cooked the night before. My husband has eaten here a number of times previously and had only positive things to say, sorry but I won't be back.

I went out with my family late last week and several meals came out 10-15 minutes after other meals and most people at my table were already done eating, they also came out cold and had to be sent back anyway. The staff however handled it amazingly getting them a new meal and a full refund for there original meals. I obviously understand that it was a busy Saturday night and some times stuff can go wrong. Overall great customer service but food just was average.

I have worked in a lot of clubs,Pubs and restaurants and I ordered the salt and pepper squid, it looked good but there was absolutely no taste of any salt or pepper it actually just tasted doughy. The pork belly bites were very good though.

Outstanding service and great Schnitzel . My daughter forget to order one of our meals. The staff fast tracked her order and it was on the table within 5 minutes. Now that is great service. Especially when a big group where in the middle if ordering. All staff were friendly, smiling which made doe a very welcoming and happy atmosphere. Great renovations and great facilities.

Wonderful staff and atmosphere, delicious food and family friendly. The kids had a ball in on the playground and devoured their dinner! The staff were lovely and exceptional. Dinner was delicious.

Place is really well renovated. Some of the food was a bit undercooked (this medium steak was dripping blood) but the flavours are OK. The food came out really fast and the garlic bread came out last. If they can fix up the food it would be 5 stars.

My other half and I love coming to the Argy. Whether we pop in for happy hour, have a feed from the amazing bistro, or stay for a few cocktails on a Friday or Saturday night we always have a great time here.Friendly helpful and happy staff. A well stocked bar. Excellent menu options. Bring the kids and let them run wild in the huge playground, my friends do ha ha

Such a family friendly pub. I've been here in many different occasions including with a playgroup on a rainy day. Staff are friendly & accommodating. Playground is great and undercover out of sun & rain. Lots of gluten free options. Weekday Lunch specials are great value, generous portions. Huge screen in outdoor area to watch sport. Separate function room available too.

Good atmosphere and great prices. Found that there were very limited food options to accommodate food allergies and as a result my meal was fairly plain. Decent price though and service was great.

Hi, the only thing was my husbands lunch wasn't the best. He had salt and pepper squid which wasn't cooked appropriately as the the crumbs were soggy which turned him off the lunch! But the rest of your facility is really good! The kids area is great as we had our grandsons with us and they enjoyed it and we caught up with friends and we had an enjoyable afternoon! We definitely would come again and we are visitors from the Port Macquarie area and our have family live in the area.
